A slip on the concrete looks like it will cost 49ers running back Reggie Bush the rest of the 2015 season.
Bush slipped on the concrete between the playing field and the stands at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis after running out of bounds early in Sunday’s loss to the Rams. Bush left the game at that point and did not return.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bush is believed to have suffered a torn ACL on the awkward spill. He’ll have an MRI to confirm that diagnosis, but chances are that we won’t see Bush back on a football field this year.
It’s two weeks in a row that the concrete in St. Louis has caused an injury. It’s something that needs to be addressed even if the Rams’ four remaining home games this season are the last ones that they’ll be playing in St. Louis.
Carlos Hyde missed Sunday’s game with a stress fracture in his knee. If the Bush diagnosis is confirmed, the team will likely add a running back or perhaps bring Jarryd Hayne back to the 53-man roster.
