Stefon Diggs doesn’t practice on Wednesday

AP

Vikings rookie phenom Stefon Diggs seemed to be hobbled a bit late in Sunday’s win over the Bears. And he was.

Diggs didn’t practice on Wednesday, due to a hamstring injury.

Durability was one of the knocks on the relatively diminutive Diggs, who slid all the way to round five. He has since outperformed that slot, but now for the first time his availability is an issue.

The good news for the Vikings is that running back Adrian Peterson has exited the injury report, after being listed last week with finger, hip, and ankle injuries. Although if that’s the Indiana-style injury report exit, it could mean that Peterson has broken ribs.

Also missing practice on Wednesday for the Vikings were linebacker Anthony Barr (back), center Joe Berger (chest), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee, ankle), and linebacker Eric Kendricks (ribs).

  1. I remember he jumped up celebrating, then he was injured, so either he hurt himself celebrating, or was hurt and didn’t care and made it worse by celebrating, not worth it especially over a 1st down…

On the plus side he is way more effective and better value than Patterson will ever be though.

  2. Yikes! That’s alot of good, young talent not practicing today. Hopefully, most of it is precautionary. Vikes can ill-afford to lose Barr and Hendricks for extended periods of time.

And he returned to the game and you saw what happened……

  4. If Diggs doesn’t go vikes have zero % chance Sunday. A.P. Will have under 70 yards against this D & it’s over Johnny. Not enough weapons against a D like that. 5-3 helloooo

  5. Dude probably just needed the day off… under paid rookie has carried the million dollar vets on that team for the last three weeks, He’s gotta be tired.

So what? It’s a FIRST down… act like you made one before. I don’t mind a having a fun. but when guys like Newton, Finley, or Diggs need to bust a move on first down they look silly. At least when Grammatica and Frerotte looked silly and injured themselves celebrating, they put some points on the board.

  7. @shaggytoodle….I believe Finley, Newton & Diggs dis put points on the board. Think before you speak!

  8. Barry Sanders was the best & acted like it. Today there’s only a bunch of look at me for doing your job. Horrible. Can’t wait for the first major in air chest bump to result in ACL & coaches & owners outlaw it.

  9. So the Patriots have been lying on their injury reports for over a decade, but its an ‘Indiana style’ injury report?

I deem that attempt at humor, on a scale of one to ten, as a fail.

So what? he signaled for the first down after making a play.

Hater. Act like you have a life.

  11. It would be a shame if Diggs missed the game. Injuries are the only thing that can prevent him from being a top wide receiver.

I’m more worried about Barr and Kendricks missing the game. It’s almost certain Floyd won’t play, so what would Gurley do if we don’t have our linebackers either?
