Washington running back Silas Redd will lose four weeks’ pay as a result of an NFL suspension.

The NFL announced today that Redd is suspended four games for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. Redd suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason, so he wouldn’t have played the next four games anyway, but he will lose four paychecks.

Redd makes $600,000 a year, which means a four-game suspension costs him a little more than $140,000.

The 23-year-old Redd, who started his college career at Penn State and then transferred to USC, has been with Washington since signing as an undrafted rookie in 2014.
