Officially, Aaron Rodgers is limited with a right shoulder problem

AP

The Packers passing game has obviously been off lately.

And they’re now acknowledging that there might be at least some physical component to it.

Via Wes Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was listed as limited on today’s injury report with a right shoulder injury.

Rodgers has denied that any health problems were at the root of their recent struggles, though coach Mike McCarthy admitted Rodgers was “banged up.”

While being limited in a Wednesday practice isn’t a tremendous cause for concern, it’s at least something to document, and certainly easier to zoom in on that the multiple issues with their offense right now.

  1. Did the Lions do that to you or are you making excuses? Cuz we know Rodgers was pretty healthy, unless he’s afraid Vikings d will crush him like peanuts.

  2. Rodgers is a great QB but has anyone else noticed when things are not going well for him it almost always because he is “hurt”?

He also very rarely does well against teams with winning records on the road. The packers are playing the Viking on the road this week aren’t they?

  3. I can’t forget Rodgers limping around in a recent playoff game and then suddenly he was magically fine mid-way through the second half. I always question if he wasn’t milking it up to that point. This could be cover in case he sucks against the Vikings.

  4. Yea excuses… I wonder what the excuse will be if a hurt Rodgers beats the queens. Man… all the pressure is on purple this weekend, lets see who the chokers are Sunday.

Since when does anyone crush peanuts?
And unshelled peanuts are not that easy to crush anyway.
So thanx for saying how tough he is.

  6. First Andrew Luck … then Peyton Manning … and now Rodgers? Is this the new thing? Play injured for a few weeks and then admit the obvious?

  7. Man, I hope the Packers win it. And not just because I’m a fan but also to shut up all the Viking trolls on here. I bet if the Packers win, the trolls will go back under their bridges which is where they were until the Vikes moved into first place and the Pack lost against a losing team.
Be afraid of the Pack, Vikes fans. Be very afraid. They are always at the top of the NFC North and are the only NFC North team that have been constant Super Bowl contenders for many years now.

  8. Packer fans….

Which shoulder was it that Rodgers hurt a couple years ago? Wasn’t it a shoulder problem in 2013 when you guys played musical qb’s when he went out? I can’t remember what the injury was that year.

  9. Packers and Rogers are too soft! Get a grip on reality! Vikes win this one…sorry pack fan, guess you’ll have to settle for second, unless the Bears pass you up too! SKOL!!!

You just summed up EVERY reason why the Vikings want to win. To shut up the Packer trolls that have been relentlessly throwing around their team. But now that the shoe is on the other foot….nothing but crickets.

If by “milking it” you mean the fact the he was playing on not a pulled calf or a strained calf, but on a documented torn calf then yeah, sure, okay. “Cool comment, bro!”

  12. I don’t care who you are, if you get put behind the GB OLine that has shown up since being on the bye week. And drop back to pass over 60 times. Chances are you will get banged up.

Gb needs to step their game up both sides of the. Ball every player, be the team that showed up vs. Seattle, and put a stop to this skid

  13. Green Bay’s offense is too easily shut down. Stop the run first which is easy because the OLine is slow. Bull rush the center on passing downs because Corey Linsley can’t handle it, and jam the WRs who get no separation. It’s really that simple.

  14. 25 years of HOF level QB play and 2 rings to show for it. Don’t act like you’re a dynasty. Then again, we root for the ultimate choke artists of all time over here in MN. I don’t know why we have people talking smack on here. We’re going to build a great team, be awesome for 5 years, lose 3 NFC championship games in mysterious fashion and go back to sucking again. That’s what we do. But, Wisconsin, you aren’t exactly the Patriots.

  15. So Rodgers is making excuses? Perhaps you should’ve read the next story up where your golden boy is also listed on the injury report.

  16. Rodgers will be fine and play well — the worries likely should lie with all the O-line injuries.

And Vikes fans may very well be the irritating little brother bugging the more successful older brother, but by the same token, many Packer fans are the smug, self-important older brother that doesn’t know quite what the hell to do when junior grows up and is able to punch him in the mouth.

  17. C’mon Vike fans, let’s lighten up on the trash talking. We haven’t won anything yet and while I am 110% confident that Coach Zimmer will take us to victory on Sunday we have to be careful not to underestimate the Packers.

    It is a bitter rivalry.
And that’s why we have what we have between the fans of both teams.
As long as no one gets hurt, it’s OK even though it is annoying.

I think the only fans in our division that Pack fans can get along with are Lions fans. At least, at this time.

At last. A post by a Vikings fan that I can respect.

We should all keep it real and wait to see what happens because you just never know.

This guy is made of glass!!!

Then you go out there and get hit by a 260 lb plus lineman full of speed and muscle and who may intentionally try to hurt you 3-5 times a week for 18 weeks straight for the next 6 years and see how you do.
    Couch QBs. Sheesh.

  21. Best game against best game, Packers win. All the Vikings can hope for is a bad performance by Green Bay. Apparently their fans realize this too, or they wouldn’t be hoping Rodgers can’t play. Remember, if Green Bay plays like they have the past couple weeks, and the Vikings win, it is no measuring stick as to how good the Vikings are. If you are a Vikings fan, all you can hope is that Green Bay brings their best and it isn’t good enough. That will be the true measure. Green Bay’s best is better than Minnesota’s best.

  22. Like usual the Viking trolls are out in full force …. Take your shots while you can because you’ll still see an empty trophy case at the end of the season.. Regardless of what Green Bay does .. How much time does it take to keep signing in and out under different screen names ??? I guess you Viking trolls have the time

  23. All us packer fans will still be right here … Where will you Viking trolls be if you guys get taken down Sunday ??? Thinking of every possible excuse is what you trolls will be doing … Bang on all the packers all you want , none of us are suiting up Sunday so go over and talk about teddys gloves on his thread

  24. I’m sick of players having bad games and then all of sudden popping up on the injury report. Romo and Big Ben have real injuries that everyone saw happen. Everyone will act like they are drama queens, but it is the media who constantly asks them questions about it. If you are hurt, dont excuse yourself on the injury report after the fact. Isnt it against league rules to hide injuries anyway?

  25. To the Packer fans making false claims of Vikings posters hoping for a Rodgers injury (either current or on Sunday).

Go back and read the posts.

There isn’t a single post hoping that Rodgers gets injured on Sunday (there is one about him taking a hard hit – but then every Packer fan posting on this page is hoping for a Packer defender to lay a hard hit on Teddy).

Hard hits are part of the game. As long as the hit is a legal hit and not delivered low or high – what’s the problem?

As to Vikings fans making fun of the sudden disclosure of a right shoulder injury today – maybe it’s because just Monday morning we read an article right here on PFT where Mike McCarthy commented that:

    “Rodgers says he is healthy…”

So either Rodgers was lying to McCarthy a few days ago or since that report he’s managed to injure his right shoulder.

Must have been from doing a discount double choke…. 😀

  26. I’m pretty sick of all the trash talk thats been going on this past week over the Vikes vs Packers game. SERIOUSLY! The reality is that both teams are pretty darn good this year. As a Vikes fan, I’m thrilled my guys are having a great year thus far… THUS FAR. The season is not over. As for the PACK. They are still a very good team. Yeah, they had a bad loss to the Lions, but every team has tough losses through out the year. All I can say is that I hope my Vikes don’t go in to the game over confident. Rogers is a great QB, no one can deny that. If both teams come to play (expecting they will) its gonna be a very good game.

  27. As a Vikings fan, I want Rodgers to play and I want him to be healthy. It takes all the fun out of it if he isn’t healthy. I really don’t know what will happen. If both teams play the way they have been for the past month or so, then I think the Vikings win, but I’ve also been a fan of the NFL long enough to know that things can change in an instant. It’s going to be a great game regardless, these are two teams that are at the top of the NFC. It’s just too bad that the FOX had to go and ruin it with Joe Buck………………………..
