Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman’s first NFL season was a big swing and miss as Perriman never got on the field thanks to a knee injury he suffered during the summer.
Initial word was that Perriman wouldn’t miss much time, but that wound up being incorrect both before and after Perriman suffered a setback with his PCL that led to surgery in late September. The Ravens finally stopped waiting on Perriman by placing him on injured reserve this week and the 2015 first-round pick says that this should be the last we hear about this injury because next year will bring better things.
“I think I’ll be fine now. It’s healing very well,” Perriman said, via CSN Mid-Atlantic. “I don’t think they’ll have to go back in. I think it’s coming along well. ... When next year comes along, when I finally get healthy, I’m going to be more hungrier than ever. Whenever I face adversity I just come back harder.”
Whether or not Steve Smith reverses course on retirement, the Ravens are in serious need of help at receiver. That’s why they picked Perriman so high in the draft and why they’ll be hoping he can pick up a lot during the offseason in order to provide it a year later than expected.
