Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s win over the Rams and will miss the rest of the season, Ravens coach John Harbaugh announced after the game.
The Ravens rallied to beat the Rams, 16-13, by scoring the game’s final 13 points. But that’s little consolation to a team that’s 3-7 and now is left to wonder if Flacco can be available for the start of next season.
Matt Schaub is the backup and the only other quarterback on the Ravens’ active roster.
Ravens running back Justin Forsett broke his arm in the first quarter and left tackle Eugene Monroe left Sunday’s game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury. The Ravens previously lost Steve Smith Sr. and Terrell Suggs to season-ending injuries, and first-round pick Breshad Perriman was placed on injured reserve last week. He never recovered and never played after being injured early in camp.
Flacco finished the game with two torn ligaments, his ACL and MCL, in his knee. A field goal by Justin Tucker won it after both teams missed field goals in the final two minutes.
The Ravens play at the 2-8 Browns next week on Monday night.
The Rams lost their third straight to slip to 4-6 and will probably miss the playoffs again.
