Offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore is ready for his first action of the season for the 49ers.

The 49ers have announced that they activated Kilgore from the physically unable to perform list to the active roster. Kilgore started the first seven games of the 2014 season before suffering a severe leg injury and has been rehabbing ever since.

Kilgore is expected to be active for tomorrow’s game against the Bears.

To make room for Kilgore on the 53-player roster, the 49ers cut linebacker Shayne Skov, who has played in every game this season, primarily on special teams.

Remember when he was a terror for Stanford, another great college player than can’t make it in the league.

Yes, because the reality is ‘college stars’ are a dime-a-dozen in the NFL. And most of those that are college stars will never make it to the NFL, never mind succeed.

Same happens at every level. The marginal players, despite being ‘stars’ at the lower levels find out the hard way they just aren’t good enough.
