The Bengals have some reason for concern about cornerback Adam Jones’s availability for this Sunday’s game against the Steelers because of a foot injury, but there’s better news on the other side of the ball.
Tight end Tyler Eifert was on the practice field Wednesday for the first time since he suffered a stinger in Week 12 against the Rams. The neck injury kept him from playing against the Browns in last Sunday’s victory, but Wednesday’s practice puts him on track to make his return to the lineup this week.
That’s a big positive for the Bengals, who have gotten 12 touchdowns from Eifert in his first 11 outings this season. That scoring touch could come in handy against a potent Steelers offense that will be facing a defense with injury concerns beyond Jones.
Cornerback Leon Hall and safety George Iloka were both out of practice on Wednesday after missing Week 13 with, respectively, back and groin injuries.
