Adrian Peterson is running with authority, and he’s given the Vikings a 7-3 first quarter lead on the Vikings.

A 9-yard Peterson run capped a Vikings drive that covered 80 yards in seven plays to give the Vikings the lead. The Cardinals got the ball first and got a Chandler Catanzaro field goal at the end of a 14-play, 71-yard drive that survived a replay review but stalled inside the Vikings’ 10.

Peterson carried four times for 38 yards on the Vikings’ drive.

The Cardinals ate up more than half of the first quarter before the field goal went through with 7:23 left in the first quarter.

Carson Palmer completed 8-of-9 passes on the opening drive for 54 yards. His only miss was a drop by David Johnson at the goal line.
