Source: Gronkowski has decided to play tonight

AP

The game-time decision has been made, and it’s not even game time.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has decided to try to play tonight, against the Texans.

Gronkowski suffered a bone bruise in his knee two Sunday nights ago, against the Broncos. It looked very bad at first, but the early news wasn’t as ominous, with some suggesting he wouldn’t miss any time at all.

He missed last Sunday’s game against the Eagles, and Gronkowski returned to practice this week. He’s officially listed as questionable for the game, but he made the trip to Houston — usually a sign that a 50-50 player will go.

Of course, there could be a tweak or a bump or a slip or a hiccup during warmups that caused him to decide to shut it down, especially since Gronkowski previously has said that he’ll play only when he’s 100 percent.

  1. Billy Boy is losing it. This info never would have been released until after the coin flip. Billy is more paranoid than Al Davis ever was and that’s saying something!

  2. Wow, it took 4 whole posts before a troll got in. That has to be close to a record for Pats comments. Please don’t feed them guys. There obsession is unhealthy and in this, the season of giving, we should try to help them wean off of it.

  3. With Gronk and Watt’s injuries, that looks like a wash.

More imoprtantly, if Belichick/Brady lose to O’Brien/Crennel/Hoyer, that will be cause for concern.

Who is the source? ESPN or NFL Network? Neither is really credible.

all it really says is he decided he’s going to TRY to play tonight…still a game time decision…

  5. If he wasn’t playing he wouldn’t have made the trip.

Another thing that hasn’t been mentioned much this week is that Houston is Martin’s former team. He’s poised to make a few plays tonight, also.

  6. There aren’t many things that are more pathetic than the Pats haters trolling the internet with their idiotic comments.

The reality is that Belichick is the greatest coach of all time and Brady is the greatest QB of all time. These are facts. True football fans will respect and appreciate what they’ve done on the field for the past 10+ years.

Deflate-gate was proven to be a joke, yet that’s the only ammo that the Pats haters have. It’s hilarious.

I’m a Dolphins fan so naturally I can’t wait for the two of them to be out of the AFC East. That said, being a fan of another AFC East isn’t going to cloud my judgment. Belichick is the best coach and Brady is the best QB. End of story.

LOL, Billy Boy is losing it? You might want to read your own delusional posts.

And just a friendly reminder to not forget to strap your helmet on before leaving the house today.

  8. Challenge: If you spew hate on Pats have the balls to post your sorry as team and is record last 15,10,5 years…doubt anyone will..

    Soft”

This gentleman has spent the last 11 months of his life, hours upon hours every day, melting down like chocolate on the sun in every.single. Pats thread.

  10. Looks like the Broncos plan to clear the path to the Superbowl by taking Gronk’s knees out was foiled. It wasn’t for lack of trying!

It wouldn’t be the first Superbowl the Broncos would have won by hitting players below the knees. In the 90’s the league had to make cutblocks illegal because the Broncos were using them to end many a career.

  11. Yet ANOTHER piece of great news for the World Champions!

Since he made the trip, I’d say there’s a fair chance Gronkowski plays, at least in a limited-snap capacity (like the red area). The final determination will be made during pre-game warmups. If Gronk feels up to it, he plays.

  13. Tee hee 🙂 To think Patriot Hater really believes their sorry team is at OUR level and belongs on the field with US. 🙂

    You poor poor deluded souls….

Doubt most would tell the truth. chippy for instance contends he is a Fins fan but in the past weeks worth of Miami articles he has commented on only one and usually displays an appalling lack of knowledge about them. Of course that’s only on one of his id’s.

Giants Guy here, married to a hardcore Boston gal and Pats fan, we had season tickets when we lived up there and she screamed her lungs out for a 1-15 team. I have a lot of respect for the NE organization and their real fans. BB is the greatest coach of the salary cap era and Brady is the GOAT period. I have blasted framegate enough that I have been accused of being a Pat’s fan, which is hysterical to a guy that had to sleep in the guest room after SB 42. It’s safe and honest to say I am not a hater.

That said, a little respect goes a long way, grow up. What’s with the ‘us’? What position did you play for them? As the Patriots are currently constituted there are several teams that ‘belong on the field’ with them. They lost to Philly at home for God’s sake, show some respect for the band wagon you are on and the injuries that team is fighting to overcome. I can’t even picture a middle school kid using tee hee or smileys in a football post so there is probably a chance you might grow out of this disrespectful phase.

Jag1959 is a Patriot poster but yet cheers for multiple teams?…..lol. just shows you Patriots had 0 fans until 2001.

Reading is fundamental but chippy shows us comprehension is an option. He said his wife is the Pats fan (love the part about the guest room btw).

And that 1-15 season was in ’90, I know trolls struggle with math but that was before ’01. Like Jag and his wife I was there, season ticket holder since ’82, although because of the prices I have to split them now. The Pats have sold out every game since ’94, the year they finally got a real owner. Oh yeah that math thing, ’94 was before ’01 too
