Andrew Luck at Colts practice in red jersey

On Monday, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck said that he hoped to return to practice this week but coach Chuck Pagano said he hadn’t heard anything from the training staff to indicate that would happen.

The message was either late in arriving or Pagano was playing things close to his vest because Wednesday’s practice kicked off with Luck on the field. According to multiple reporters watching the portion of practice open to the media, Luck is wearing a red no-contact jersey while taking part in his first session since suffering kidney and abdominal injuries against the Broncos in Week Eight.

Week 15 was the target date for Luck’s return set by Colts owner Jim Irsay earlier this month, although Adam Schefter of ESPN reported this week that the team wasn’t optimistic that he’d be ready to make it back for this week’s game against the Texans. Returning to practice doesn’t mean he’ll be ready to play this Sunday, but it would seem to put it in place at the very least.

Matt Hasselbeck isn’t practicing on Wednesday, although that was expected after he suffered a rib injury in last Sunday’s blowout loss to the Jaguars. Left tackle Anthony Castonzo, who has missed the last three games with a knee injury, is back on the field, however.

  1. So when is Roger going to announce the discipline for the Dolts cheating the system by leaving Lucks fractured ribs off the injury report?! After all it’s about the integrity of the game , right Roger??

Is that the same red jersey Brady gets to wear on Sundays?

Tom Brady wears a red Superman cape on Sundays.

That, of course, is befitting Tom Brady, the Greatest NFL Player of All-Time.

  3. Luck shouldn’t sign any contract this offseason and force the Colts to trade him. they aren’t concerned w/ winning nor protecting him so why not max out elsewhere with a better owner.

why are they trying to kill this guy?

Because Grigson and Pagano’s butt’s are on the line after the Jags had a signature win against the Colts, if it wasn’t already, and if the Colts don’t make the playoffs, everything gets blown up. Only hope of even making the playoffs is Luck, and everyone knows it. Is it worth it? Not in my opinion, let the franchise QB fully heal!

  5. I would die if Luck came to Arizona. It would make sense, Luck would be with his buddy Bruce again, with a good team, a good GM, a good owner. It would solve Arizona’s future QB problem, and it would fit just as Palmer hits the 38 year mark, the wall for most NFL QBs.

…hey, a man can dream. I know it will never happen.

  6. Unless he’s allowed to use deflated footballs, he might as well just give up! Several teams have caught the Colts with needles on the sidelines. You can simply google the videos. In the Wells Report, Indy admitted to tampering with the ball they intercepted.

  7. Imagine how good the Broncos would be if they signed Luck? Luck would be foolish to resign with the Colts, but as a Pats fan, I hope he does.

  8. I hope he’s healthy, fully recovered and ready to play. Under any other circumstances, putting him on the filed is dangerous, stupid and unethical.

    Love, A Texans Fan!

Since when have the Dolts been ethical?? they sucked for Luck, they tampered with a football during the AFC championship game, piped in crowd noise & left Luck’s broken ribs off the injury report.
