Browns claim RB Mostert from Ravens

The Browns claimed rookie running back Raheem Mostert off waivers from the Ravens Wednesday and waived wide receiver Darius Jennings.

The Browns are presumably adding Mostert for his return ability as he becomes the fifth running back on the active roster. He had been returning kickoffs for the Ravens.

This is Mostert’s fourth stop since he went undrafted last spring and signed with the Eagles. He played in one game with the Dolphins and seven with the Ravens.

An undrafted rookie, Jennings was placed on the practice squad after a strong preseason and was on the active roster for the last two games. His departure essentially guarantees reps for Terrelle Pryor, the former quarterback turned wide receiver who rejoined the Browns earlier this month and made his wide receiver debut in last week’s win over the 49ers.

  1. Darius Jennings actually played well, there must have been other non-productive guys on this roster?

Oh yeah, Ray made the decision and receivers do not impact a game…
