The Vikings are marching toward the playoffs, and beating the Bears was a relatively easy stop on the journey to the postseason.
Minnesota jumped out to an early lead and never looked back today against Chicago, winning 38-17 in a game that was never in doubt.
Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater played what may have been the best game of his young career, throwing four touchdown passes and running for another touchdown. Although Bridgewater had struggled to make big plays for much of this season, he did everything asked of him and more today. Adrian Peterson was banged up twice in the game, once with a shoulder injury and once with an ankle injury, but he returned to the game after both.
The Bears, who are now mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, couldn’t get much going offensively. Running back Matt Forte had a good game, but otherwise the Bears simply weren’t up to the task today.
The Vikings, on the other hand, turned in a strong game that improved their record to 9-5 and made them look like they’ll be a tough team to beat in January.
