The Packers are getting routed in Arizona, which means next week’s game against the Vikings will be for the NFC North title even if the Vikings lose 73-0 to the Giants on Sunday night.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said this week that the team wouldn’t hold any players back from the game against the Giants if it kicked off without any implications in the NFC North race and he’s sticking to that promise. Running back Adrian Peterson, safety Harrison Smith, linebacker Anthony Barr and nose tackle Linval Joseph are all active for the game, which gets going at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Smith, Barr and Joseph have missed all or most of the last three games while Peterson hurt his ankle last weekend.
Quarterback Taylor Heinicke, wide receiver Charles Johnson, cornerback Josh Robinson, linebacker Brandon Watts, center Nick Easton, tackle Jeremiah Sirles and defensive end Zack Moore are inactive for Minnesota.
Giants wide receiver/kick returner Dwayne Harris is active after being listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. He’ll be needed as the team plays without the suspended Odell Beckham. Hakeem Nicks will start for the Giants for the first time since 2013 with Beckham out.
Wide receiver Geremy Davis, cornerback Jayron Hosley, safety Cooper Taylor, linebacker Devon Kennard, guard Adam Gettis, tackle Emmett Cleary and defensive end Stansly Maponga are the inactive Giants on Sunday night.
