Kory Lichtensteiger activated from injured reserve

When center Kory Lichtensteiger went on injured reserve with the designation to return after Week Nine, it seemed like there was a pretty good chance that the return part of the transaction would go by the wayside since the 3-5 Redskins would need to make the playoffs for him to be eligible to get back on the field.

As you’re likely aware, the Redskins are in the playoffs and Lichtensteiger is back on the roster for Sunday’s game against the Packers. The team announced that Lichtensteiger has been activated on Tuesday afternoon with Brian de la Puente getting dropped from the roster to make room.

Lichtensteiger started all five games he played before heading to injured reserve. Josh LeRibeus took over once he hurt his neck, leaving the team with a decision to make about who will man the pivot come Sunday.

The Redskins also formally announced the signing of cornerback Cary Williams. Safety Kyshoen Jarrett has been placed on injured reserve after suffering nerve damage in his right arm in Week 17.

  1. I saw the Skins last 4 games. I don’t care who they were playing. They were dominant, as you would expect a good playoff team to be. They will not be an easy out. Washington trending way up. GB trending down. I really don’t see GB beating them in Washington. Skins win 31-23

  2. Say what you will about the NFC East, but the Redskins earned the division by winning games at the end of the season ( 4 straight the longest winning streak of ANY current playoff team ) that they had to win and by playing their best football.

No, I do not think they will go very far in the playoffs but who even thought they would be in the playoffs?

16 of the 32 NFL teams finished with a losing record and 3 teams at 8-8.

  3. For someone who insisted on using ALL CAPS to emphasize your point, you may want to check your facts. I am pretty sure that their current winning streak is less than half that of the Chiefs.

  4. Wow these redskins fans come out from under the rocks and wood piles. Dear Skins fans you have the worst owner in the NFL, your stadium had over 10,000 seats Removed due to no ticket sales. Skins won the east because of the real teams had off years.

  5. key2heat,

If you think the Circus that is the Cleveland Browns have better ownership then you have proved your football IQ. Not to say Danny did not take ten years to figure it out, but our current structure is working nicely. Also, any team that has struggled for 10 years will tend to have some fan erosion. Although, If you ever went to Fedex, the removing of the seats improved the whole game day experience. From your tone I don’t think it is going to matter what I say. Your gonna hate and that is OK. The Skins are living the dream and we are a young improving team with a bright future and every other team in the Division is very flawed and either rebooting or should be rebooting.

  6. On behalf of 99% of the readers here, and sports fans throughout the country, I want to say thank you for continuing to say REDSKINS. Far too many people give in to false outrage in today’s PC culture and it is a breath of fresh air to see someone not giving in.
