Donald Trump decries the NFL, and America, getting soft

As Donald Trump watched Saturday night’s Steelers-Bengals game, with hard hits that caused concussions and drew penalty flags, he thought he saw a metaphor for the direction that our country is heading in.

“Football has become soft like our country has become soft,” Trump said at a campaign rally today, to cheers from the audience.

Trump said he’s frustrated to see the way the NFL has changed the rules to take many hits to the head out of the game, at the expense of what Trump views as the old-school style of play that made the game great decades ago.

“Who wants to watch these crummy games?” Trump said, adding that the NFL has outlawed “what used to be considered a great tackle, head-on and violent,” in the days of Dick Butkus, Lawrence Taylor and Ray Nitschke.

Trump said he loves his friend Tom Brady but otherwise isn’t much interested in today’s NFL. At a time when the league is attempting to address concussions in part because of political pressure from elected officials who view the game as too dangerous, the leader in the Republican presidential primary polls believes the game was better before.

  1. What do you expect? He’s going to say whatever he thinks people want to hear even though he probably doesn’t believe half of it, and it’s working great for him so far.

  2. “At a time when the league is attempting to address concussions in part because of political pressure from elected officials who view the game as too dangerous, the leader in the Republican presidential primary polls believes the game was better before.”

The game was clearly better before, there’s no comparison at all.

  3. Can’t wait to see how much of a sore loser you’re gonna be when you lose to Hillary Clinton. You are an embarrassment to hard working Americans. And im a Canadian.

  4. Apparently he didn’t see the Vikings-Seahawks game. That was hard-nosed old school football, and there weren’t any soft players out there today. Except maybe Walsh.

  5. You’re right Donald, let’s ignore trivialities like neuroscience and potential billion dollar lawsuits. But hey, I hear you’re friends with Tom Brady, so that’s cool!

  6. ” At a time when the league is attempting to address concussions in part because of political pressure from elected officials who view the game as too dangerous”

    That’s his point, right there!

  7. Then tell people to stop suing the NFL every time something goes wrong in their lives.

  8. That dude sunk my childhood memories by ruining the USFL!!!! Watching games in the spring and summer at the vet. What a great time as a kid!!!!

  9. I love this guy! Finally somebody speaking for the fans and the people. Gotta love someone who doesn’t sound like a corporate shill like 95% of he media

  10. I agree with him. Compared to today, it was definitely more pure and entertaining, all without the huge salaries and divas (“he called me a name”!) and overly technical rules (“what’s a catch”?!). Thy need to soon call it somethng else.

Thses guys know the risks, period.

  11. Not A Trump guy, in fact I think it’s a sad commentary on our country that so many are going to vote him but he’s right here, especially about the people. Don’t even get me started on that lol. He’s right about the NFL too but they really have no choice but to at least make it look like they care about head injuries

  12. For the commenter above from Canada suggesting Hillary Clinton is going to win….”Do you #FEELTHEBERN?…….if you don’t…YOU WILL”. 🙂

  13. Fortunately, he and his GMs over the years built his New Jersey Generals teams around traditional hard nosed defenses that take no prisoners. That’s why they’ve won six Super Bowls since coming into the league in 1986. Can’t wait to see them take on Seattle next week.

Because of course, not only is Donald Trump always right, everything he touches is a rousing success, right?

I find Clinton supporters on average way worse than Trump supporters. Seriously.

Just try to hang out with someone who is supporting Hillary Clinton it’s almost unbearable.

  16. Easy to say the NFL has turned “soft” when Trump isn’t the one having his head taken off, or being knocked out by sniper DB zeroing in on you.

What a sad state of affairs this country is in when a loser loudmouth can be taken seriously to run for the country’s highest office. The same GOP that brought you sarah ‘not ready for prime time’ palin.

  17. Please let the primaries start so this clown can just go away. He’ll win a couple of fly over states, But the big electorate districts see right thru his rhetoric.

  18. From covering up spygate(letting the patriots cheat the RAMS out of Super Bowl. Then bounty gate, the wussifiying of this great game. Trying to get more games over seas, including SUPERBOWL . It’s obvious this clown Goodell has screwed with the game too much . Time for him to go .

As if we all care what Donald Trump thinks. This guy is the worst presidential candidate in the history of the United States.
    _______

I’ll admit he’s bad, but have you seen the felon and the socialist on the other side? This election could set a record for low turnout and write-in votes.

  20. Its funny. This guy has made more sense thanany candidate out there. Romney made alot more sense than obama last election. Yet somehow were stuck with clownshoes like sanders, clinton, bush, rubio. Career politicians that say anything to get a elected.

  21. America is soft. Giving morons like Donald Trump the republican nomination and a platform to speak.

  22. Interesting to note how most of the comments here are anti-Trump. Hope that’s how the voting goes, too. This guy is a scary egomaniac with lot of money. I guess if elected he’ll paint TRUMP on the White House. Soooo tacky. Gold seat belts on his plane. Really, Donald? Is that necessary? Relate to “the common man” do you? So classless….

  23. Yep, he’s right……….If you stop Football you will have to stop boxing , MMA , WWE , baseball , basket ball , Soccer , or any other sport that has collisions between players and participants. Make the players sign a release to play football.
    Donald is right …………..

  24. “Who wants to watch these crummy games?”

Uh, do you mean the record breaking amount of viewers the NFL draws every year? You would think, as a tv guy who often brings up the ratings he draws during the debates, would know this. And especially as someone in the casino business, he would know the obvious gambling draw of football. This story is nonsense.

  25. He’s right about both. The nation is filled with wusses and the quality of football in the NFL is going downhill. Dilfer and Tom Jackson actually make that point on a weekly basis on the Sunday night show. I was in a safe zone when I typed this so everyone be nice and don’t hurt my feelings or I’ll have to call the police.

  26. He’s right in that the country has turned into a soft collection of self entitled, politically correct whiners.

I doubt however, that allowing brutal, concussion causing hits as the norm in football is the way to correct this.

  27. Now Hillary would just lie about it… that is if she knew what she was talking about. First in an email that she claims she didn’t send but then later was caught which made her say “that is not what I meant” but another shows up where she clearly reiterated that is exactly what she meant but she ultimately doesn’t have to worry about it because the main stream media will not report the story LOL! It is that credibility she has… Oh wait she lies all the time!!!

  28. He won’t consider the NFL a real business until they declare bankruptcy 4X sticking their creditors and investors with the bills

  29. Maybe he can appoint Roger Goodell as his VP running mate – they are apparently good friends. Both have great hair and massive egos. NFL fans across America would support this as the only way to replace Goodell.

  30. Please, don’t give him yet more attention. The only reason he opened his mouth about this is because it’s the playoffs and he knows he’ll draw attention from the games.

  31. Trump might be right. He might not be right. He says things that sometimes, some people agree with…

… and, almost invariably, what he says proves nothing except that he is not qualified to be the President. Just because you might like what he says, or how he says it, doesn’t mean he should ever be put in charge of the country.

  32. Why did Jeff Lurie fire Chip Kelly, in addition to the rescheduled Christmas Party – he wasn’t emotionally sensitive enough to players’ feelings?

  33. Haha i always hear stories how brutal football was in the seventies. I wasnt alive but can imagine. Football these days seems alot like areana football , just look at new stadiums being built they look like shoping malls

  34. What’s he talking about “getting soft”? Hillary has been shot at by snipers in Afghanistan, he hasn’t.

  35. A nation of wusses that needs guns I guess. Don’t remember old toupee with his hand in the dirt, or running a crossing route and getting a head shot, although he acts like he has taken a lot of shots to the head!

  36. Hate the idiot. Would never vote for him BUT he us totally right. Make these girly players sign a waiver. You want to make the money take the risk.

There will come a time, pal, when you will become VERY religious.

  38. Never played football, never served in the military, inherited his money, and declared bankruptcy multiple times, yet feels compelled to talk ish.

Yeah, Trump is hard as nails, and a real self-made man.

    What a pathetic turd.

  39. As a conservative non supporter of trump gotta say he’s pretty much right. Sites like this and too many idiots with Internet access are creating a much softer country.

  40. tjacks7 says:

This guy is the worst presidential candidate in the history of the United States.
    ======================================

He’s probably the only one in history not controlled by corporate donors.

  41. ……still pissed about TRUMP ruining the USFL because HE couldnt play within the salary cap RULES the owners created. Imagine what the heck he’ll do if he gets into the White House!….

  42. I happen to think that the NFL has been in decline for almost 40 years. It started with the 1978 rule changes which crippled defenses at the expense of opening up the passing game so that QBs/WRs could have inflated stats. And it’s gotten progressively worse over the years.

It certainly doesn’t take a politician to figure that out.

  43. We may be getting soft, but it rings hollow from a guy that sits in his air-conditioned tower drinking tonic water while barking demands at his servant underlings. Hugh Glass from ‘The Revenant’ Donald is not.

  44. Trump’s never worn the uniform–and he’s a warmonger. He’s never been knocked unconscious by an NFL linebacker–and he loves to watch other guys get knocked out. He’s never run a serious risk in his life because he’s never had to–and he’ll happily tell you how hard life is.

Trump’s as soft as a sneaker full of poop. Just look at him. Anybody think he could help you move a refrigerator? But he’ll stand back and tell you how to do it, for sure.

  45. So says the train wreck who grew up with a silver spoon…the only thing he’s famous for is his big mouth and filing embarrassing bankruptcy…again!…the country too is bankrupt if this tool even gets close to winning an election.

  46. i dont miss guys twitching, and twisted up on the ground. paralyzation has been taken OUT of the game, and it’s great. if you want to see some of our strongest suffer, then why not watch womens ufc. you can see woment get their noses broken for money, and fame.

  47. Who would have thunk that the sophmoric and insanely satirical “Idiocracy” was actually cautionary and prophetic?

  48. Yes the country as a whole is far too PC and getting way too soft. Yes football was more entertaining before but while I was enjoying it I had no idea the heroes of my youth were going to end up basket cases either. If the price of fewer guys who play their hearts out to entertain us ending up drooling on themselves is a softer game well I’ll still take the softer game over no game. I’ll bet the gladiatorial ‘games’ were damned entertaining too so long as you weren’t the one with a sword in your hand.

  49. Yeah, Canada, a real presence in the world.

  50. Hey Trump, your friend Tom wears the biggest skirt of all and I’m sure he would NOT endorse your view on letting the Defense really play.

  51. You know, he has a point. One of the reasons why NFL players get paid as well as they do is because of the risk of injury. I don’t see any of those players who whine about hits refusing to cash their paychecks. Which must mean they accept the risk.

  52. Trump thinks these players are soft? Trump … with his manicured nails and silver spoon in mouth? Uh huh.

Anytime Donald wants to take the field, I’ll be okay with giving Burfict carte blanche to dive at his knees, drive his shoulder into the turf, and try to separate his head from his torso. Until then, there’s no place in the game for head-hunters.

  53. I wouldn’t speak so glowingly about Lawrence Taylor given his legal problems and status as a sex offender.

    Great player though.

  54. Trump may be obnoxious but he could not possibly be worse th clowns we have had for the last 16 years. As for Hillary, she will say and do anything to get elected….she has no core beliefs.

  55. Hilarious all the Trump bashers who completely ignore their front runner is probably the most dishonest manipulative self serving politician to ever run for office. And Trump supporters are the morons lol.

  56. God Trump makes me sick. Typical Republican moron. Likes the macho stuff like waging needless wars and wanting us all to have guns and shoot each other and engage in a survival of the fittest while the 1% Republicans strip us of health benefits and jobs and homes while they sit laughing at us. Republicans make me ashamed and embarrassed to be an American at this point.

  57. Donald should ask his good friend Brady if he is in favour of allowing pass rushers to dive at his legs and not get a penalty. Or how about a forearm to his helmet. I’m sure Brady would love to make football more manly.

  58. Remember, this is the egomaniac who thought he could sue his way into the NFL and took them to the cleaners…for $3.

Don’t let the elephant suit fool you.

  60. America? NFL? Soft? For a draft-dodging, flabby fat boy he sure has a big mouth. I’m his age but put me in a room alone with him and I guarantee when we walk out he’ll be crying like a little girl and I’ll own half of what he has including his current wife.

  61. Let’s paraphrase what he is really saying: “PC correct Liberal weenies are ruining this country.”

And on that he is quite correct.

  62. Donald Trumps most dangerous activity is having his hair messed up by his helicopter.

I’m sure someone could lay a hit to his head and make him change his mind.

  63. Trump’s mostly right (although he always goes overboard & bloviates)…..the game today has made millionaires out of pampered whiners who are in no way as tough as players from years ago.

It all started with protecting the QB aka “players in skirts”, then WRs and has gotten more and more limp wristed from there.

Look at who is in charge of competition, rules, etc….mostly all former offensive players…..something tells me it would be different with a Butkus, Ronnie Lott, John Lynch, etc. in charge or at least involved in the system.

Add to it now that lawyers became involved with the concussions/injuries and it has only made the sport worse, a money making opportunity for those vultures while allegedly making the game safer for players” but in reality the NFL looking to cover it’s ass and protect their coffers.

  64. 1. The Rams gagged, quit blaming spygate…
    2. Football does suck compared to 20-30 yrs ago…can’t breathe on a receiver
    3. Tom may wear a skirt, but he’s also the GOAT..

    …anything else?

  65. Anyone here ever watch the Amazon show “Alpha House?”

    *SPOILER*

In the second season comedian/magician Penn Gilette (of Penn & Teller fame) runs for the Senate by saying all kinds of outrageous things, stuff that “people are thinking but keeping to themselves” etc.

He dominates the polls. Right before the election, he goes on a tirade on a talk show about how the public in general is so stupid to put a completely unqualified person like him in front just because he’s a celebrity with a big mouth, yadda yadda.

He genuinely believes his opponent is a buffoon, but also acknowledges that if he got elected, he would realistically have no idea what he was doing and burn it all to the ground. He storms off, saying the public and his opponent deserve each other.

This entire Trump campaign has felt incredibly similar to that whole storyline over the past half year. Difference is if (when) The Don wins, I think he’ll gladly take the seat of power. He is saying crazy stuff just for the sake of saying it, and discovering that a lot of voters really are just as crazy and will gladly follow him wherever.

It’s very refreshing, and very fitting for the society as a whole we’ve built ourselves — and it’s not just limited to America, either. The crazy Russians love Putin. Europe has that fun little Pirate Party going. Even the Nazis seem to be gaining some votes out there somewhere. People are bored with the status quo, and is generation is going to be living in some intersting times because of it.

  66. At least he’s not a career politician that American’s are dumb enough to keep putting into office and milk hard working taxpayers out of their hard earned money.

P.S. if Al Franken can go from the comedy club to the US Senate, what’s the difference?????

We are crazy to have a country without borders,no border patrol, paying deadbeats…you fill in the rest but America is waking up. P.S. modern day football is soft and quite pathetic. TRUMP 2016 or bust !!!!

  72. Just so I understand this properly … people around here routinely say what Trump just said. And that’s fine. But when Trump says it, suddenly everyone disagrees with it?

Look, if you don’t like Trump, that’s fine. Just say so. But he IS just saying what lots of people have been saying about the NFL for a very long time now.

  73. Hillary would just take a “selfie” with whomever the flavor of the week NFL player is and then email her cronies about how much she hates football.

  74. Trump said of himself that he would be the greatest President this country’s ever had. Right. He’s an insulting, thin-skinned, bloviating coward who cannot handle any amount of criticism without retaliating in the worst possible way. Just who we need having access to our nuclear arsenal.

  88. So Trump is PRO-concussion? Really? Let’s make American great/hate again!! Its not surprising since the NFL would never permit The Donald as an owner based on his USFL experience. Its interesting that America’s unofficial pastime would reject a potential presidential candidate as an owner. 107. Donald Trump is Right! Just like a lot of Americans earn for the days when Politicians would duel like Arron Burr and Alexander Hamilton!

  108. Doesn’t surprise me there are some liberal football watchers here. Same guys that like to watch players dancing like women in the end zone. Trump is right once again, and I sure hope that pro-liberal NBC hasnt infected PFT.

What do you expect? He’s going to say whatever he thinks people want to hear even though he probably doesn’t believe half of it, and it’s working great for him so far

Proof positive that 14 yr olds don’t have a clue of the real world yet think that due to the internet, their opinion is valid. Trump is far and away the only candidate in the last 50 years (at least) that will say what he thinks no matter WHO it might offend. To state otherwise shows a total lack of knowledge on this subject.

  110. The Donald loves to dish it out, but he can never take it when someone gives it back.

  111. Of course he’s right, any 12 y.o. can see that. I’ve often wondered why all politicians don’t take a stand on America’s sport. It’s what’s on the mind of a majority of the voters.

I recognize what Trump’s doing and I wouldn’t consider voting for him unless he started talking eminent domain or SEC investigation, but the other candidates should pay heed while they are falling further behind in the polls.

  112. I feel sorry for those of you that have fallen prey to the false left right paradigm and think another Bush or Clinton is good for this nation…

  113. As if this bloated brat ever did anything physical in his life and all of you saying it is soft wouldn’t lat two offensive snaps in a game. Get over yourselves

  114. Of course, this tough guy never played any football himself. In the same way, he never served in the military but is all too happy to bravely talk about sending other people off to die in pointless wars. But that is par for the course for Republicans.

It’s not a rivalry when one side dominates the other. The NFL knocked off Trump’s USFL in TV ratings, longevity and in the courts.

=====================================Sorry to disappoint you but don’t let the facts get in the way of what you believe. When the USFL was in the spring there wasn’t a problem.Until they got stupid and a tried go head to head with the NFL and tried to match them dollar for dollar for players. Then this idiot started coming up with these exoribant contracts and that was the death knell.People like you need to keep your politics out of the sports pages because they blind you to facts.

  116. I don`t know how old the cry babies on here are but if you`ve been watching football for more than 10-15 years you know he`s right. It`s a dangerous game but that`s why they are paid a lot of money to play a game.
It`s still safer than boxing or MMA . If you want a flag football league fine but this crap isn`t what real football should be.If some players think it`s too dangerous don`t play. Some think the military is too dangerous so they don`t go.Men have kept wanting to play because the money is worth the risk too them.
They have all known about concussions for years but the chance to hit the lottery and set their families up for life was worth it so grown men made a choice,They aren`t forced into it.Let the tough guys play and watch real football and set up a two hand touch league for the wussies crying cheap shot every time someone makes contact with a players head. It`s unavoidable. That`s why they wear helmets.

It is because there are enough people like you who confuse shamelessly exploiting people’s fears and prejudices with honesty that Trump has a real chance to win the Republican nomination (though he’ll never win the general).

You’re being played my friend. I’m sure you won’t take my word for it but my guess is that this fact will become apparent eventually.

  118. Must every generation call the next soft and worse than their own? It’s endless. If it was actually true than how the heck did we go from living in caves to what we have now?

Old people – and I am one – shut up about how much better your generation was than the next. We have all the money and power – we run the world. The next generation will probably be better than yours, because they almost always are.

It seems the more people have, the more they whine and complain about how awful things are.

  119. Very stupid comment

All in all worst nfl season I’ve ever watched. Didn’t even bother watching today’s games. There are 4 good nfl teams and they are even shells of what top teams used to look like

  120. Some of you people are just terrible human beings.

Those of you calling for a waiver. Yes, lets put a waiver in front of early 20 something year old kids, that mostly come from impoverished backgrounds and have them sign away there rights to have a normal middle age and almost no old age so you can watch them smash each other in the heads as hard as possible. All so you can watch the highlight 3-4 times and move on with your life just a tiny bit happier.

  121. Maybe we should switch from NFL football to Union Rugby – – no helmets, no obvious padding, no timeouts, no “first downs,” no differentiation between offensive and defensive players – – – all the players go, non-stop full tilt, for 40 minutes, take a short half-time break and then go another full-tilt forty minutes. No substitutions unless a player is hurt.
Oh, and the active playing season consists of more than sixteen games.

I’ll wager not too many current NFL players could last an eighty minute game.

    Just a thought

  122. Tell me something you goofy right wing nut jobs if that 70year old beady eyed rat were elected how do you think he would handle his congress let alone the world he has alienated everyone he is a sorry excuse for a human

  123. While I agree with most of what he says. I just wish ALL politicians would stay away from sports.

  124. Trump is a dangerous charlatan. Problem is a lot of Americans seem to want a dangerous charlatan right now.

  125. He’s right. And I will vote for him. All you people who support Obama are a joke…telling me you are going for Hillary? Pfffft!!! Trump started from the ground up and knows ecomonics, which by the way our economy SUCKS

  126. Soft? Hillary Clinton could probably kick his butt. I doubt Trump ever played football. Tough guys don’t have to talk tough. They know they’re tough. This guy is like a little baby.

  127. Trump is just saying that because the helmet that is his hairdo fared better in impact tests than any football helmet yet developed. Yet every time he opens his mouth I know there’s no way he could pass the concussion protocol.

  128. Trump just said what 75% of the posters here say, except now, since Trump said it, it is lunacy.

So this site is like the huff post, a total buch of tree hugger liberals. Football is exactly as stated, soft.
    ———————

Trump is not some symbol of conservatism or anti-liberalism. He is a big-govt crony who bought liberal and conservative politicians alike and used anti-American policies like eminent domain to enrich himself at the cost of working Americans.

He’s right, too. Lawyers and congressional involvement have never improved anything except lawyer and congress income.

    ———————————————————
Great historical perspective … I bet you just love the constitution …. You probably don’t realize the people who wrote it were politicians AND lawyers. And all those amendments, that was all congressional involvement. But yeah.

  132. Says the bloated orange blob who probably can’t sign bankruptcy papers without wheezing.

  133. TRUMP is wrong. It’s not the NFL that drives the newer, less violent league. IT IS THE LAWYERS. The league is worried about being sued for not making the game safer.

  134. Tough talk from someone who was able to get out of the military draft after being diagnosed with a bone spur. Probably never played a down in his life.

  135. Trump is right to a very small extent; however, Donald when you went bankrupt you filed to protect yourself as much as possible by law. And yet the NFL is going soft? You did the same thing in protecting yourself. Go whine somewhere else.

  136. Trump should know about violence and pain. He received 5 requested deferments to stay out of the draft during the Vietnam war. For those who have stated that football is soft then tell me how when 19 high school kids have died this past season playing the game. Perhaps Trump has CTE.

  137. I’ve said this here before many times. Trump is right.

The NFL of the 1970’s set the standard in American sports. The Steel Curtain. The undefeated Dolphins. The Raiders, Cowboys, Vikings, Rams. The Luv Ya Blue Oilers. Air Coryell’s Chargers. Denver’s Orange Crush.

It was a tough physical league back then. For all the crying about concussions, NFL stars like Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Ken Stabler managed to survive for many years after despite being concussed multiple times in the same game.

The padding is better today. The hits to the head are not allowed. But the players were tougher back then.

The majority of the people crying about this are the same SJW’s in our society who are attempting to restrict free speech. Mind YOUR OWN business.

If you’re not playing in the league or are not a family member of the player. Your opinion doesn’t matter, period. Just sit back in your cowardly chair and whine to yourself when the hits are too much for you.

  138. I’d be more concerned about this country finding a viable presidential candidate. It’s been “soft” on both sides for quite some time.

Why did Jeff Lurie fire Chip Kelly, in addition to the rescheduled Christmas Party – he wasn’t emotionally sensitive enough to players’ feelings?
    ———————————————
I think that not getting in the playoffs, losing the locker room ,having multiple players criticise him,and last but definitely not least – he didn’t want to give up the GM part of the job. Lurie wouldn’t go for that….so the only option left was the one that was took. That is why Chip is out of a job.

  140. It is lunacy. Read Mein Kamph, it could have been written by Trump. As Erich Fromm stated; “do you want what you think you want, or do you want what you are suppose to want?”

  141. Those saying, and complaining, that the previous generation always says the current generation is weak need to stop and take a look at things. They’re right. Every generation has gotten weaker as the modern advancements have improved, that simply cannot be denied. Generations also get more spoiled and self entitled. It’s reality so shut up and stop whining about people pointing it out.

  142. I have been watching the game since 1956 and the game was better to watch in the 50’s-70’s…no doubt about it, and anyone my age will agree.Better action and you did not have a ref throwing a flag destroying the continuity of the game every other play. Those are facts and very hard to dispute.

  143. This guy simply whines too much. He has wanted and tried to become a team owner and gets spurned. Turns around and starts whining about it being an inferior product, never wanted it anyway, etc. etc.

And yeah, for those lamenting the NFL for going “soft;” take a look at the physical profiles of players 20, 30, 40 years ago compared to today. The Hogs averaged a little over 270 pounds. Thirty years later the average weight of a TYPICAL offensive line is 40 pounds more. These players are much much larger and faster, yet things like bones, joints and yes… brains… are the same. It’s all physics and something has to give. You play today with the rules from the “good ol’ days” and there wouldn’t be enough players to field a team by season’s end. Then everyone will be complaining about how the quality of play is sub par.

  144. Like him or not, Trump is refreshing. I love how politically incorrect he his. Hillary should be in jail, and if that offends you you’ve had your head buried in the sand for a loooong time.

  145. Anyone who says the NFL is soft now a days is not on the field playing. Hell, put Trump on a high school field for two quarters and then ask him if he thinks football is getting softer by trying to outlaw head shots.

  146. Just enjoying The Dump rambling on, which equals many people and businesses are separating themselves from him. Costing him so much of the only thing he loves…
    This is a headingMoney.

Dubai wants to spit on him.
    Scotland hates him.
UK and Germany want to ban him from entering their country.

    Loving it.

  147. I can agree on only this one thing with Trump. As evidenced by the amount of bloggers on a supposed NFL site that can’t say the word Redskins for an NFL team, America is soft.

  148. He just used the wrong words. The NFL IS HARDLY SOFT but has become a jungle of rules which have changed the game from what it was. Way too much review of every thing that happens .

Suggest get rid of talking heads durning games. Just watch without Al Michales telling you what you just saw. Eliminate automatic reviews.

Trumps second point that Americans are soft . Should have said we become a country of robots. Think about it.

  149. For how much the conservatives just love to call the liberals whiners, they sure do spend a lot of time whining themselves, about everything and as loudly as they possibly can.
