Packers take the lead, but still far from polished

The Packers still don’t look like themselves.

But they’ve done enough in the second quarter to take the lead.

Aaron Rodgers has thrown a pair of touchdown passes, giving the Packers a 17-11 lead just before halftime.

Rodgers hit one of his typical free-play touchdown passes, hitting Randall Cobb while Washington was trying unsuccessfully to get its 12th man off the field.

On the next drive, he stalled after missing a wide open Cobb on a deep ball, settling for a field goal in the process.

But despite a few misses, he was finally able to convince Davante Adams to catch a few passes, including a 10-yard touchdown.

Rodgers is missing far too many open targets, and has to move his feet far too often because of their protection problems.

But for the first time in weeks, they have something resembling rhythm.
