The Tennessee Titans appear close to filling their general manager vacancy.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, the Titans’ search is closing in on Tampa Bay Buccaneers director of player personnel Jon Robinson as the successor to the fired Ruston Webster.
An announcement could come as early as Thursday.
Robinson has spent just the last two seasons with the Buccaneers after spending the previous 12 years with the New England Patriots. Robinson had served as the Patriots director of college scouting before getting the promotion to director of player personnel with the Bucs.
A Tennessee native, Robinson would be taking over the personnel decisions for a team that has won just five games over the last two seasons.
The Titans have also considered Chris Ballard, Ted Sundquist, Marc Ross, Chris Polian and Martin Mayhew for the role.
