Report: Ben’s not at full strength, but can run the whole offense

Ben Roethlisberger

AP

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s injured shoulder wont be at full strength today in Denver. But he won’t be as limited as he was at the end of last week’s game at Cincinnati.

That’s the word from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who says Roethlisberger is less than 100 percent but close enough that the Steelers’ full playbook is available. If the Steelers want to throw deep, they’ll throw deep.

That wasn’t the case at the end of the Bengals game: An obviously injured Roethlisberger was throwing with a flick of the wrist and elbow, noticeably favoring his right shoulder. The Steelers still moved into game-winning field goal range without Roethlisberger at 100 percent, but 30 of those yards came from Bengals penalties, and it’s hard to imagine a quarterback playing a full game looking like Roethlisberger looked at the end of the game in Cincinnati.

Fortunately, the Steelers won’t have to see that. Roethlisberger isn’t fully healthy, but he’s healthy enough.
