Former Vikings head coach Brad Childress will take over as offensive coordinator of the Chiefs, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
Childress has been with the Chiefs as a spread game analyst since his longtime friend and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid came to Kansas City in 2013. He has 17 years of NFL experience and was previously Reid’s offensive coordinator with the Eagles from 2002-05.
He fills the spot vacated by Doug Pederson, who was officially named Eagles head coach Monday.
Childress was the Vikings head coach from 2006-10. His last coordinator job was with the Browns in 2012.
