The semi-complicated flirtation between Kirby Wilson and the Browns will end with Wilson being hired as the team’s run game coordinator, ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported Wednesday.
New Browns coach Hue Jackson targeted Wilson as a top priority after Jackson was hired last week. Wilson’s contract as running backs coach of the Vikings expired earlier this week, and the Vikings initially denied Wilson permission to interview.
Jackson is expected to call his own plays. Only one Jackson staff member has officially been announced; special teams coach Chris Tabor will be retained.
Wilson previously coached running backs with the Cardinals, Patriots, Steelers and Buccaneers.
