The Eagles made a new contract for Zach Ertz a priority heading into the offseason, and now they’ve already gotten it done.

Ertz has agreed to a five-year deal through 2021, the team has announced. Multiple reports say Ertz will get $20 million guaranteed and is now the fourth-highest-paid tight end in the NFL, behind Jimmy Graham, Julius Thomas and Rob Gronkowski.

A second-round pick in 2013, Ertz has emerged as an important part of the Eagles’ offense, and although that offense will change with the firing of Chip Kelly and the hiring of Doug Pederson, they still want him to be a big piece of the puzzle in Philadelphia.

Ertz had a career-high 75 catches for 853 yards in 2015.
