Fort Worth Police responded early Saturday to what they called “an altercation” between Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend.
A police spokesman told Omar Villafranca of CBS News that Manziel was not arrested and that a report on the incident has not been completed.
Manziel, for now, is employed by the Browns. He and then-girlfriend Colleen Crowley also dealt with police in Northeast Ohio following an October argument that started on the highway and extended back near Manziel’s suburban home. It’s not clear if Crowley is the woman involved in this incident, but she lives in the Fort Worth area.
Crowley told police Manziel had pressed her head against a window during their October incident but later tweeted “it was just an argument.” The NFL investigated and decided not to discipline Manziel.
Manziel got benched in November for apparently lying to then-coach Mike Pettine about videos and photos that popped up on social media. He started again in December but didn’t finish the season after the Browns said he had a concussion. He then missed a required treatment and reports surfaced that he’d been partying in Las Vegas the night before the Browns’ 2015 season finale.
New Browns Coach Hue Jackson has said he’s yet to speak with Manziel and that the team has made no decision on his future.
