Police deal with another incident between Manziel, girlfriend

Fort Worth Police responded early Saturday to what they called “an altercation” between Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend.

A police spokesman told Omar Villafranca of CBS News that Manziel was not arrested and that a report on the incident has not been completed.

Manziel, for now, is employed by the Browns. He and then-girlfriend Colleen Crowley also dealt with police in Northeast Ohio following an October argument that started on the highway and extended back near Manziel’s suburban home. It’s not clear if Crowley is the woman involved in this incident, but she lives in the Fort Worth area.

Crowley told police Manziel had pressed her head against a window during their October incident but later tweeted “it was just an argument.” The NFL investigated and decided not to discipline Manziel.

Manziel got benched in November for apparently lying to then-coach Mike Pettine about videos and photos that popped up on social media. He started again in December but didn’t finish the season after the Browns said he had a concussion. He then missed a required treatment and reports surfaced that he’d been partying in Las Vegas the night before the Browns’ 2015 season finale.

New Browns Coach Hue Jackson has said he’s yet to speak with Manziel and that the team has made no decision on his future.

  1. This kid obviously needs a lot of help. Sounds like another stint in rehab. I hope he hits bottom with this latest problem because things are only going to get worse if he doesn’t grow up and deal with his addictions and other problems. I don’t like JM but I hate to see someone talented throwing away what could be a wonderful life.

  2. Calling Jerry Jone: This is YOUR kind of guy, Jerry. Please take him off the hands of innocent Browns fans who didn’t want him on this team in the first place! A 4th rounder will do the trick.

  3. NFL integrity. Where domestic violence is accepted as a normal behavior.

    Goodell’s National Integrity League

    Goodell is vile

Goodell and his cronies must go !

  4. Good luck “fixing” him.

He’s very flawed as a person.

Whether addiction is a part of that is irrelevant.

He cannot be fixed because he truly doesn’t want to be fixed.

This has been his life for his whole life. Clearly he likes this way of life.

You cannot change him Browns. Don’t bother, just get rid of him. I know you don’t want to look stupid for drafting another bust at QB, but you will cut him eventually. Do it before he gets a DUI or something else that makes the organization look bad.

  5. Dumpster fire and train wreck will soon be sinking an injunction to prevent them being used in conjunction with Manziel. He is giving them a bad name

  6. Just trade for him already Jerriah…

The Browns don’t deserve to be held back any longer. The new regime is trying to get things turned around.

  7. He is showing true leadership qualities. Please sign him Jerry, you just know he’s going to be great.

  8. Sounds like he needs to keep his hands off the ladies.. or find a lady who won’t call the cops after he roughs her up. Dude is such a piece of work..

  9. Almost the entire Manziel’s rookie contract, ’14-’17 for $8m is guaranteed.

Manziel’s agent Erik Burkhardt may be, without too much effort, coaching Manziel is get cut by Brown. This way, Manziel can double drip in the market.

  10. I think it’s time just to cut him loose from the NFL altogether. Enough time wasted on this guy. He deserves help, but he doesn’t deserve to be an NFL QB.

  11. I guess they are going to wait until he almost kills that girl before something is done….that boy has a problem and someone needs to step up and get him together before it is too late

  12. Leave the dude alone already. It’s not like it’s more probable than not that he may have been generally aware that some other dude might have let a minuscule spurt of air out of some footballs while relieving himself in the men’s room. It’s that guy that needs to be made an example of for the sake of the “integrity of the game”, not Johnny FB.

  13. She knows all she has to do is raise her voice and everyone comes down on him. She’s got the leverage, and she knows it.

Drop her or give her what she wants, pronto.

  14. “New Browns Coach Hue Jackson has said he’s yet to speak with Manziel and that the team has made no decision on his future.”

Because he has no future in Cleveland.

  15. This guy dates Lauren Hanley and Colleen Crowley, and somehow can’t make it work? Maybe it’s just me, but unless those women were the proverbial all-day plane crash in terms of personality, I’d find it pretty easy to pick my battles if I were dating either of them.

With all his issues on and off the field, it’s pretty clear which member of the couple is the all-day plane crash.

Not sure if he’s approaching Ryan Leaf bust category or if he’s already miles past it

    ==================================

um, ryan leaf repeatedly burglarized homes for drugs. I also cant visualize manziel getting in the face of a reporter trying to intimidate him. manziel drinks too much and fights with his psycho girlfriend alot. hes 23, just turned. not a fan of the guy and his antics but this is being blown way out of proportion. he sounds like a lot of other 23 yr old guys i have known. yea he lacks maturity, but nobodys perfect at 23, especially when they had money growing up.

  17. Man, I would pay good money to see the Johnny Highball trainwreck crash head on into the Dallas Cowboys trainwreck! Endless entertainment. Come on Jerry, do it for the fans!

  18. George Herbert Walker Bush’s fault. Barbara too. They cursed him at that coronation/pro day

  19. If Coach Jackson has not spoken to the guy yet, it’s apparent they HAVE made a decision about his future.

And that future is not in Cleveland.

  20. Who didn’t know this guy was going to be a bust in the NFL? The option system doesn’t translate to pro football very well, and if the player chosen to make it happen has character issues, you have Johnny Football!

    ————————–

Just to be clear, the Browns are giving the 4th rounder plus Manziel, right?

  22. When he skipped going to concussion protocol with out notifying the team it seemed was trying to force his way out of the league. In a clever, risky and not so bright kind of way.

With this latest incident it seems like he is trying to force his way out of the league…. in a really stupid kind of way.

At least he saved Jerry Jones from himself, too bad Johnny can’t do the same for himself.

  23. Oh I think Jackson has made a decision. The best Manziel can do, is rent a little condo by his University, get free drinks every night and live off his college status

  24. Johnny Manziel not arrested, not charged with any crime of any kind.

The standard rush to judgement by you the American public of a public figure an athlete who’s private life is public.

Message to Johnny Manziel: dump this girl Crowley and get off of Social Media completely.

Until you have evidence that John Manziel did anything wrong… Do not rush to judgement…

Johnny Manziel is a target as you all are out to get the 22 year old kid….

  25. It’s a “Jump to Conclusions Mat”. You see, it would be this mat that you would put on the floor… and would have different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO.

Johnny is such an easy target, but I won’t crucify him before more details are released.

  26. Goodell is vile

Goodell and his cronies must go !
    ————————————————————-

Please explain exactly what in the hell Goodell has to do with Manziel punching his girlfriend????
He does not have time to babysit him, too busy catching the cheaters in the league.

  27. I thank God every day that my Vikings took Teddy Bridgewater in the draft instead of Manziel. The poor Cleveland Browns. Please cut this guy loose and set him free. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. Manziel’s issues have issues. I hope Hue Jackson will move quickly and find a real QB who can both play football and act like a responsible adult. The fans of Cleveland deserve a lot better.

    *******************************************************************************

There’s always one person that steps up to defend Manziel when these stories pop up every couple of weeks. I don’t understand it at all.

  29. Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell where taken 2nd pick and 1st pick overall (respectively) and Manziel did not go till the 22nd spot. Akili Smith was third overall. The ship has sailed on those three and maybe Manziel can become Jim Plunkett. I doubt it but the idea of him in Dallas is just so,so, so very Jerry who can resist?

  30. I hope Johnny can figure it out. Not to keep a football career, but to just have any semblance of a stable life. Good luck in your future endeavors, Johnny. If not now, your football career is over soon.

  31. Dallas please please take him he will get you as many rings as Romo

Dallas the homeless shelter of the NFL

  32. The girlfriend went to lunch with Johnny in Cleve and got trashed, now it looks like she was trashed in fort worth. The girlfriend needs rehab, the browns need Johnny!

  33. The Browns gotta pay that guaranteed money. So bury his butt on the bench for the next 2 years. Make him hold a clip board, and watch. When he messes up, fine him, if he becomes a detriment to the team, suspend him. But either way, the kid needs a timeout in the corner.

  34. I reflect back on all the comments of condemnation made towards Ray Rice when his very viral incident occurred. Why not the same damning comments toward Manziel? Why are people/fans/feminist groups not all up in arms over this and other incidents?

This isn’t a “one time occurrence” this is several incidents where the law was involved, yet no one is saying he should be banned like with Ray Rice.

  35. This is what has to happen for him to have just a CHANCE at a successful NFL career before no one cares about him any more, which is closer than he thinks.

    1. Lose the party-first, me-first bubblehead girlfriend. She’s a cancer to any chance you’ve got–not supporting the cause.

    2. Take every opportunity to stay sober. It may take a few tries but the NFL will work with you on that.

    3. Time for a new team and a new shot at trust, which needs to be built up over time, and proving yourself at every step.

Odds are still against him. It’s tough to convince an immature 23 year old of any of these things, especially if he’s just not ready to listen.

  36. He plays for Cleveland. Why are we reporting about this? Cleveland is a huge dumpster fire while the Browns should be moved to London.

  37. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam paid a consulting firm $100,000 to tell them which QB to take, and it came back with Bridgewater.
Then Haslam gave a homeless guy a nickel and the bum told him to take Manziel.
The rest, as they say, is history.

  38. Cleveland fans: no worries! Huewill not put up with this distaction. Mandrel can take his affluenza where it can really be appreciated – Dallas

  39. Greg Hardy and Ray Rice were condemned from the day, no the second they were accused. Manziel beats his girlfriend about every other week. Only a complete idiot believes it happened only the two times the cops showed up.

Then we read in the comments, people have the temerity to blame the young lady? You need your head examined, along with the ones who try to turn this into Goodell’s fault.

The only shocking thing is that they haven’t figured out a way to pin it on Cam or RG3 or President Obama. By the way, he wasn’t arrested for the same reason crime stats are flawed in America.

    Somewhere Hue Jackson is smiling.

  40. Looking forward to reading about Manziel going out the same way Steve McNair went out. Then we won’t be hearing about Johnny Football any longer..

  41. The browns seriously need to get rid of this loser… he just can not 100% ever stay out of the negative reports. Everytime I’m looking about something with the browns it involves manziel doing something stupid. Way to go with that WASTED draft pick. Lmao. The while browns organization is a joke. They suck, no other way around it. No matter how many times you polish a turd it is what it is. That’s the browns. Then name kind of fits lol. Anyways I hope they do keep him. Don’t put that burden on ANYBODY else.

  42. Well, Haslem did draft him for the marketing aspect. Everyone definitely knows he exists! Oh Browns fans. You can’t pick ur owner.

  43. Only one decision to be made. Dump him. That obnoxious money sign he made right from the beginning should have been a clue.

  44. Ahhh Johnny me boy…there’s always Arena ball or perhaps the CFL. Your days of overpaid, spoiled sports player are potentially numbered.

Or Vince McMahon might take you….I hear his big star named John is out of action. Maybe you could fill in while he recovers from his injury.

  45. If this guy played for the patriots you would never hear about arrest reports, drugs (unless they show up at station), cheating, etc., etc., etc

  46. It’s amazing how we got to report everything and everytime this man has an altercation with his girl.

  47. I think RGIII is the new backup for the Cowboys, I was hoping for Manziel. I thought the situation with his drinking was overblown with the Browns, with them trying to save face, but this relationship with this girl needs to end before he gets arrested and she/he gets hurt. He really needs to grow up and understand the reality of the situation. If he wants to play football, then stop screwing around, and play ball.

  48. Hey Johnny quit trying to be a celebrity, and focus on being a football player. Having a hot girlfriend is nice, but yours is obviously a high maintenance, party girl, who strives to be a Kardashian dimwit. Once you are out of the NFL maybe sooner than later, you can pursue your career as a hip hop artist, or professional socialite, reality star whatever. This kid is a trainwreck please nfl teams do not pick him up, he needs to hit rock bottom before he will finally grow up and become a man.

  49. I’m wondering if this kid can be fixed, unless you’re planning to have him neutered, which may actually be a good idea. I can’t imagine him with carbon copies of himself……SMH…..

Anyone know if the Ft. Worth PD checked his parents house for him? They probably have him stashed in some “safe room”.

It will never end, will it?!

  50. Manziel’s agent Erik Burkhardt may be, without too much effort, coaching Manziel is get cut by Brown. This way, Manziel can double drip in the market.

    27 64
Double drip? What, does he have herpes and the clap?

  51. It won’t be long before Manziel can try out his mating rituals that he uses with so much aggression on women with his 400 cell mate who wants some good lovin each night. I wonder if there is such a thing as “pillow face” as Manziel’s male mate pushes his face into the pillow during a real aggressive man love episode.

  52. Here’s a guy who seemed to have a ton of people in his corner saying crap like ‘leave the kid alone and let him live his life’ etc. every time he screwed up. Lil’ Johnny seems to have finally lost the last of his supporters. What a waste of talent.

  53. I love the fact that there are people who are still making excuses for this kid. What’s even funnier is they thing this is some ploy to get off the team his on.

Like the idea is “hey, act like a total moron to the point that your team (and your agent who quit and the other 31 teams who already passed you in the draft the first time) doesn’t want you. Good thing he comes from money.

  54. Well, you can’t fix STUPID !! I for one had given JM all sorts of passes based on his prior head coach. Now, he just needs to go away. He doesn’t get it and even LeBron James kicked him to the curb. Besides, if that boy cannot figure out that his “girlfriend” is a major RED FLAG, then so be it and fade off into the sunset bro. No saving this clown………………..

I just shake my head at how some people are still defending this guy. What will it take for some people to say “ah yes there is a pattern to his behavior whether he gets charged or not” or my favorite “he is just a young dumb kid”

Last I checked he is an adult and he will have to face it sooner or later. Probably later when he is out of the NFL and they are interviewing him for a 30/30 special.
