Fortunately for the Tyler Eifert, his Pro Bowl injury wasn’t a serious one.

According to Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals tight end had his ankle examined Tuesday and tests showed only a sprain.

Eifert hurt himself during the first half of a Pro Bowl that was loosely played by its own standards, leaving in a walking boot.

The Bengals said he only needs rest, and is expected to be fine by the time offseason programs begin in April.

Eifert led all tight ends with 13 touchdown receptions this year, standing out among a Bengals offense which is loaded with receiving targets.

  1. Lucky he wasn’t hurt worse. Another reason to do away with the game. Wait until someone gets seriously hurt and has to sit out the next year recovering.

  2. ……………phewwwww, that was close…….I was afraid they might eliminate the Pro Bowl from ever being played again because of that injury……
