Tom Brady tells Derek Jeter: “We blew it,” hangs with Ric Flair

If you want to be the man, you have to beat the man, and Tom Brady didn’t.

Well, at least he wasn’t able to beat Peyton Manning in the AFC Championship Game, but he did get to meet the guy who coined the phrase “limousine riding and jet-plane flying” yesterday, among other stars.

Brady was at the University of Michigan for a national signing day event yesterday hosted by The Players Tribune, along with Derek Jeter and pro wrestling legend Ric Flair.

And at one point in the event, Brady is shown making small talk with the former Yankees shortstop, when the topic of the reason he’s there came up.

“The season just ended,” Brady told Jeter, in a video on The Players Tribune . “It ended two weeks too early.”

We blew it. We had a good chance.”

The Patriots had a shot, but couldn’t convert a two-point conversion leading to a 20-18 loss.

  1. Michigan’s signing day is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard about. They had Jeter, Rick Flair and Lou freaking Holtz, all of whom DIDNT ATTEND MICHIGAN. I guess Harbaugh is such a ridiculous person that nothing he does should really surprise me but what a joke. Were Charlie Weiss and the Ultimate Warrior busy yesterday?
Fun fact:Michigan State has beaten Michigan 7 of the last 8 times they’ve played.

  2. .
The Patriots lost the game long before the two point conversion. Their lack of preparation and execution of the ” silent snap ” resulted in Ware and Miller blowing by the Patriots tackles like their feet were encased in cement.

Ex Patriots O line coach Dante Scarnecchia must have died a thousand deaths during that debacle.
    .

  3. Tom Brady is totally honest with himself. He knows that his 5th ring was there for the taking this season and his O-line let him down.
After the ridiculous persecution by the Commissioner, he deserves some acknowledgement and recognition. Show Brady your love and respect his superiority.
Tom Brady – GOAT and it’s not even close.

    Brady you choked again

But not as many times as your boy Manning!
    Right, crybaby?
    Wait till Sunday night.

  5. Well, at least he (Brady) wasn’t able to beat Peyton Manning in the AFC Championship Game
    ______________

peyton manning? It was the Denver Defense that Shady couldn’t beat.

  6. “Brady you choked again”

Poor Terripet. Facing another 5-10 years of the Bills not making the playoffs you must be gnawing you’re extremities off.

The rest of the league and its fans are rolling on the floor over the Rob Ryan hiring. Hope you’re all set to see your defense be even worse than it was this year.

And if you’d actually watched the game you’d know what lost the AFCC this year for the Pats was the Oline, not Brady. But hey, the hater double standard lives on

  7. What’s sad is I was gonna go to this event, The Signing Of The Stars, but forgot it was on a Wednesday shoot! I was downtown t the time too. Oh well there’s always next year!

btw,…did Brady look like the biggest nerd ever in that pic??

Yep, he did. Shortly thereafter he no doubt boarded a private nerd jet and went home to his nerd lovin’ world’s richest supermodel wife. It’s gotta be tough being that nerd.

Michigan leads 68-35-5 all time, 42-9 in big ten titles, 11-6 in national titles, 3-0 Heisman winners and 78-31 in consensus all Americans not to mention 8-4 in Rose Bowl wins. Pipe down and get used to being little brother again

And I remember the past 40 years where MSU fans called UM arrrogant and elitest, but just couldn’t beat them more than once every 7 years or so. Back then, the MSU rallying cry was “Pride comes before the fall,” and they were correct.

You would think that the recent record (7-1 vs. UM in last 8 years) would instill a little pride, maybe allow the fans to get excited again, and help get the program back on track. Well the program is back on track, competing with all but the best programs in the country. Unfortunately, the MSU fan base is now exactly what they used to assuse UM of: A pile of arrogant a-holes that troll everywhere a UM article exists, and spew their stupidity.

Congratulations, ‘lil bro…you are now what you used to despise. But with Harbaugh in town, soon you can go back to being the sad-sacks you have always been.

Unless, of course, he accepts the league’s invitation to join Montana front and center as the only other 3 time SB MVP winner at the SB 50 extravaganza. Somewhere in that assemblage will be Dolphins QB…oh wait never mind the Dolphins have never had a QB win a SB MVP but they will have a couple of guys out there wearing depends and supported by their walkers.

  15. If the Nature Boy was on the field stylin’ and profilin’, the Patriots would’ve won by a landslide. Whoooooo!!!!

  16. The Pats should be back next season. Most are under contract, the roster is youngish, and with a few tweaks, they will be right there, at the end, competing for the trophy, like they always do.
