Former Detroit Lions receiver Titus Young has been arrested again.

According to TMZ Sports, Young was arrested after allegedly causing “serious bodily injury” to another man during a fight on January 30. The report states that Young has been charged with felony battery with serious bodily injury.

With Young already serving five years probation after pleading no contest to a felony battery charge in May 2015, Young will almost certainly be heading to jail this time around.

Young was arrested three times in the same week in 2013 for various incidents that included trying to break his own car out of the police impound. He was then arrested again in July 2014 for the altercation that led to his no contest plea in May.

Young had 81 receptions for 990 yards and 10 touchdowns in his two seasons with Detroit from 2011-12. However, issues within the team and legal issues led to his release in Feburary 2013.

  1. Wasn’t he most recently ex Rams receiver? Sure smear the Lions, but Jeff Fisher actually thought he could do something with him after all that and deserves a mention for his buffoonery.

  2. He’s done.

He’ll get into fights in prison, with horrible results. Draw your own conclusions.

  3. When I skim past all the non-football stories featuring Johnny Manziel, I do pause to wonder how stupid him and his family must be to not follow the same path of players like Young.

  4. He needs a mental health facility, not jail. Jail is not a mental health facility, well it is, a mental health creation facility.

  5. Serious mental health issues are going to dog him for the rest of his life. Hopefully he’s not self medicating (street drugs/alcohol ) but that’s most likely the case

  6. Titus Young a 2nd round pick of the Lions. I remember where he would purposely run the wrong route because the play wasn’t called for him. A real mental case that I thought was already in jail. All these talented knuckleheads with the chance of a lifetime and look how they end up.

  7. If I’m his latest victim’s friends or family, first thing I’m asking is why wasn’t Young locked up already? Actually I’m wondering that anyway. This clown has had at least 3 strikes, it’s time to say bye for a long time.

  8. It’s a shame to see how this kid has fallen this low. If it hasn’t been already done, this guy needs a complete psych evaluation.

I don’t believe showing him pictures of Lawrence Phillips dead in this cell will be enough to reach Titus Young because he’s past the point where he can “get it”.

On a side note, if this keeps up, don’t be surprised if the name “Titus Young” is replaced by “Johnny Manziel” in the headlines. The difference between the two is that Titus is too mentally far gone to “get it”, whereas Johnny just plain doesn’t give a crap.

  9. I honestly hope to read one day that, after this young man hit his rock bottom that he found The Lord and is working as an evangelical minister. It’s obvious that he has major mental health issues but I think the path of God would be the best thing for him as he gets his life together.

If he was shoplifting or cutting himself, maybe, but this is assault with a deadly weapon. And that’s after multiple other assault charges. As well as charges for burglary, DUI, and other wholesome activities.

At some point, it’s no longer the NFL’s fault, no longer society’s fault, and the guy has to get taken out of circulation for a while.

He’s sick, but no one can argue he didn’t have more opportunity and second chances than most people ever get.

  11. He’s a sociopath and should be locked up for the rest of his life before he kills someone.

  12. Could have been one of the best slot guys in the league. Had great hands. Too bad it has gone this way. His father talked years ago that he has some mental disorders, so you just hope he gets this dealt before he really hurts someone.
