With several members of their secondary set for free agency, the back end of the Steelers defense could look very different than it did last season.

It may bear resemblance to the one they fielded in 2014, however. According to multiple reports, the Steelers have reached out to cornerback Brice McCain to express interest in working him out after next week’s scouting combine.

McCain spent the 2014 season with the Steelers and started nine games before heading to the Dolphins as a free agent. McCain had 25 tackles, three interceptions and a touchdown during his year in Pittsburgh and made 11 starts with Miami in 2015 before getting released last week.

McCain has already visited with the Buccaneers as he works to find a job for next year. The Steelers have cornerbacks William Gay, Antwon Blake and Brandon Boykin set to become free agents next month.
