Rob Gronkowski’s party ship coming home today

We’ve seen what Rob Gronkowski is capable of on dry land.

And apparently, his voyage to sea hasn’t disappointed either.

The Patriots tight end is scheduled to return today from his weekend cruise to “Gronk’s Island” — a private island in the Bahamas.

And judging by some of the social media posts from onboard, it is everything you might have imagined. Via Robert Kelmko of TheMMQB.com, Gronkowski took a microphone at one points and offered a pair of party-goers “10 grand cash right now if you bang in front of everybody.”

Context is everything, but we’re guessing he didn’t mean Dan Campbell-style Oklahoma drills.

Otherwise, the cruise seems to be a lot of what you’d imagine: Shirtless Gronks (including his father) dancing and partying and having a high time on the high seas.

There’s no word as to whether Fred Smoot or any of the other Vikings made this cruise, or whether it’s anything but a good time. We may have to wait for the book, or the movie — which may be NC-17.

  1. I’d be willing to bet Brady is on board.
Last party before his suspension is made official. What a shame for a tainted franchise.

  2. What an amazing article. So interesting and insightful. Any other articles on NFL players partying this weekend? Guess Gronk was only one.

  3. Erik Kuselias it said about the Vikings sex boat, I’ll say it here: the only reason I and every other person on PFT Planet wasn’t there is because we weren’t invited.

  4. Thank God it was Gronk and not Cam, because the world would have come to end if Cam or Johnny was a party cruise….since it was Gronk, no big deal….

  5. Had this been any miniority or Manizel. They would have been blasted from this. “nothing good comes after midnight”. “he needs help”. Remember Lesean mccoys party?

  6. “he is just having fun”. Had this been teddy bridgewater, who we relatively know nothing about. we would get ” he should be studying the playbook”

  7. I cant hate the man. He does his job on the field and has earned every bit of his popularity. Party on Gronk.

    Go Steelers

That being said, you will have to grow up sometime. And I hope soon.

  8. There is a huge difference between Gronk and Fred Smoot and I am not just talking about football ability. Gronk is doing this on his own dime and in the off season. Fred Smoot and company (the leaders of the Vikings and I am using that term loosely) snuck up on those poor employees of Al & Alma’s and forced them to witness the debauchery. Actually, when you think about it, the Vikings continue that tradition of forcing their fans to watch the debauchery each home game except it isn’t a handful of employees but 60,000 revenue generating fans.

  9. For as long as Gronk has been a harmless goof people have lined up to ponder “Imagine how the media would react if a black athlete did this…”

I’m not sure why this strains the imagination so hard, but I’d wager if Gronk was black most people would probably be thrilled he just has bad taste in music and not high on drugs in a high speed chase with the police with a loaded gun and a 12 year old in the car.

Also, see “Manziel, Johnny” for reasons why this fictitious athlete doesn’t need to be black.

  10. I like the Patriots and I like Gronk. Not so impressed that there is even a market for this cruise but that has more to do with my age. I suppose I’m most surprised that his father chose to go and participate. A little creepy I think. Kind of like a father going with his sons on spring break. Not really appropriate.

  11. What a moron. Biggest cry baby I’ve ever witnessed. Surprised he didn’t mildly sprain his knee dancing like a tool fell to the floor and act like his leg was blown off.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It is because we know as much about Gronk as we do that this sort of thing is “he is just having fun.” He is an all-pro player with incredible talent. He’s never been in trouble with the law, he has never been in the substance abuse program, and he clearly puts work into his training, film study and understanding of his playbook.

The guy is a meat head no doubt, but he isn’t a “troubled” player and he isn’t showing any signs of ineffectiveness on the field because in his down time he likes to hang out with adult film stars, drink, and fist pump.

green bay won the division, right?

  14. I have to laugh when people comment here calling Gronkowski a meathead, dbag, etc.

If any of you recall an article here on PFT a few months ago Gronk likes to have fun, but he also does his work and takes his craft seriously…He also has NEVER spent an NFL game check, he lives off of his endorsements, etc. If that’s a “meathead” or a “big dumb jock, I’ll take that anytime rather than seeing some player arrested for other foolishness.

Beautiful day in South Florida today. Makes me think of taking the boat out for awhile.

  15. “Gronk’s Island” — a private island in the Bahamas?

Was Mr. York yelling out “smiles everyone, smiles.”

  16. Gronks partying is during the offseason.
    Manziel’s in weekly.

Gronk doesnt show up to practice hungover.
    Manziel does.

Gronk doesnt wear fake disguises when and goes to Las Vegas when he’s supposed to be in “concussion” protocol.
    Manziel does.

Gronk hasnt been accused of drug use.
    Manziel has.

Gronk isn’t under police investigation for assault.
    Manziel is for domestic abuse.

    Gronk hasnt been to rehab.
    Manziel has.

Gronk’s dad isn’t worried he may die before 2017.
Manziel’s dad is worried about him.

Gronk wasnt raised as a entitled spoiled rich kid.
    Manziel has affluenza.

Gronk is an all pro tight end.
Manziel is a 3rd string quarterback.

Gronk has long term security with his team.
Manziel is about to get cut.

Gronk is a future hall of famer (at this rate).
Manziel is a bust (at this rate).

Stop comparing Manziel and Gronkowski because they both like to party. They aren’t similar.

  17. If he wasn’t tested for drugs right after the board returned to harbor, the NFL is clueless. If this was Johnny Manziel, the world would be crucifying him at the burning stake.

  18. You people must live really sad lives. This dude is in his mid-20s, works as hard as he can on the field and during the season, has never been caught with drugs or guns or committing a crime, and he likes to party in the offseason. How does that make him a dbag or a meathead? Is he breaking any laws? Maybe he just likes to have fun. Maybe you people should learn something from him. Find something productive to do with your lives.

  19. Radio correspondent call in this morning reports Rob has been the lightest drinking of the Gronk clan, and that everyone is having fun… So much fun that even the sports hub correspondent got some action. Sorry, but this is all pretty funny.

  20. As a Colts fan you have no idea how hard it is for me to defend anything that has to do with the Patriots. In this case it must be done. The guy has done nothing wrong except destroy almost every LB or DB that he is matched up against. He plays hard and then he plays hard. Any one who says they wouldn’t want him on their team is either an idiot or a liar.

  21. Gronk shows how he can have a ton of fun and still be one of the NFLs best players. Manziel shows how he can have a ton of fun and suck in the NFL.
