After completing terms of his sentencing, the solicitation charge that cost Ohio State NFL Draft prospect Adolphus Washington his final college game has been dismissed.
Washington pleaded guilty to the charge under an agreement it would be dismissed if he completed a program known as “John school” before his sentencing, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
Washington was arrested Dec. 9 in a police vice operation at a Columbus motel. Now, the charge is something Washington will have to discuss with NFL coaches and decision makers at the Scouting Combine this week.
He’s part of a very deep and talented defensive line class in this year’s draft and part of an Ohio State draft group that could threaten the record of six first-round picks from a single college team set by Miami (Fla.) in 2004. Washington was second team All-Big Ten last season and was named a second-team All American by CBS Sports.
Washington was suspended for the Fiesta Bowl, possibly as much because he violated a team rule by being in legal possession of a firearm during his arrest. He played in the Senior Bowl in late January.
Ohio State listed Washington at 6-foot-4, 290. He had 12.5 career sacks.
