The Saints may have indeed been considering a return to the team’s facility for training camp in 2016. If they were, they’ve resolved the issue fairly quickly.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Saints will indeed be back in West Virginia for training camp at The Greenbrier.

The Saints initially made the change in order to conduct camp in a more moderate climate, away from the heat and humidity of Louisiana. They’ve made the journey to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for camp in 2014 and 2015.

The Greenbrier quickly built two years ago a practice facility for the Saints. The Cardinals used it for a week last year between games at Detroit and Pittsburgh. The current plan is for the Saints to use it for at least one more year, possibly with the Hard Knocks cameras and microphones on the premises.

  1. Coincidence or not, the saints have had two of the worst seasons of the Payton/Brees error after greenbrier training camps. Maybe a resort with pillow menus is not necessarily the best thing to toughen a team..

  2. Waste of time going to WV when there’s a state of the art facility at home. Expecting another mentally weak team this year that gives up in the face of adversity instead of gritting their teeth and pushing through. Hurts to see this.

  3. If the Saints get hard knocks it will be the worst one ever. I can’t see Sean Payton giving them the access they have had before. He is already on record saying he would never allow them to film players getting cut and/or roster formation meetings.
