Veteran defensive lineman Haloti Ngata will sign a two-year deal to remain with the Lions.
The Lions traded for Ngata last March and this year made a move to keep him before he became a free agent. He started 14 games last season and recorded 2.5 sacks.
Even at 32, Ngata would have commanded attention on the open market, especially because defensive linemen are going fast.
Ngata is a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro. He has 28 sacks in his 10 seasons.
