After the retirement of Matt Hasselbeck and the release of Josh Freeman, the Colts are looking for a backup quarterback behind Andrew Luck. Luke McCown could be their man.

Field Yates of ESPN reports that McCown visited the Colts today.

The 34-year-old McCown has only started one game in the last four years, but that one game came last year and he played pretty well for the Saints in place of the injured Drew Brees: McCown completed 32 of 39 passes for 335 yards in the game. McCown has had a long career as a backup with the Browns, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Falcons and Colts.

Luck had an injury-plagued 2015 season, and although the Colts rallied and played fairly well while Luck was out, backup quarterback is an area where they want to improve. As backups go, McCown is not a bad option.
