Free agent safety Rafael Bush is heading to Detroit.
Bush, who played the last four years for the Saints, is signing with the Lions, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It’s a one-year contract worth up to $2.4 million.
The 28-year-old Bush started the first game of the season for the Saints last year but suffered a torn pectoral in that game and was lost for the season.
Bush wore No. 25 for the Saints, allowing Saints fans who bought Reggie Bush jerseys to keep wearing them for another Bush on the team. Reggie Bush wore No. 21 for the Lions, but Rafael won’t get that number. It’s already taken by Ameer Abdullah.
