Brandon Thompson expected to visit Seahawks Monday

After nine years with the Seahawks, defensive tackle Brandon Mebane has signed with the Chargers as a free agent and the Seahawks have been talking with potential additions to the group in recent days.

Cam Thomas and Sealver Siliga have both visited with the Seahawks and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports that Brandon Thompson will join that group on Monday.

Thompson had a role in the Bengals’ defensive line rotation for the last three years, but didn’t play in the team’s playoff loss to the Steelers after tearing his ACL in the regular season finale. That injury likely rules him out of offseason work and leaves him questionable for training camp and the start of the regular season, which makes it hard to count on him as more than a depth piece for 2016.

Thompson has 53 tackles and three sacks in 39 career games.

  1. We have to look at the whole team and add all the pieces we need, including depth, but personally I’d sure like to see Pete and John do something with the offensive line.

    You know, just a thought.
