Karl Dunbar “completely surprised and disappointed” by termination

On Sunday, the Bills suddenly parted ways with defensive line coach Karl Dunbar. The formal announcement shed no light on why he was “relieved of his duties.”

On Monday, Dunbar issued a statement regarding the move. The statement also sheds no light on the situation.

“While I am completely surprised and disappointed in being relieved of my duties by the Buffalo Bills, I would like to thank the Bills organization, Terry and Kim Pegula, Coach Ryan, the other Bills coaches, all of the Bills players and all of the staff in Buffalo,” Dunbar said. “I am especially grateful to the numerous players and coaches who reached out and shared their support of me. I wish them success in the future as I seek my next coaching opportunity.”

There has to be more to the story; coaches don’t simply get run out the door in the middle of March. If it’s going to happen, it happens not long after the season ends.

There’s 30 teams in the NFL, then there’s Buffalo and Cleveland.

Yeah, cause finishing .500 or better the last 2 seasons puts you at the bottom two of the league. Yet for the life of me I can’t understand why there are 18 teams picking before the Bills. Brilliant!

Good luck Coach Dunbar, you’ll be employed before the week is out.

  2. This is just the first step. Rex has plenty of relatives to replace his remaining staff.

Buffalo fans, we understand if you wanna follow another team until the Ryans take their clown shoes and go home.

He will be a Dolphin. We finally have the pieces together to take division.
    .
Word is this guy championed all that “Williams quit on his team” stuff. Now they go and fire him. Not sure what to make of this. But I do know their D will only get worse with Rex bro in there.

Smh. Yet, Dolphins FANS can’t get the words together in order to form complete sentences…….

  5. You gotta be pretty sad if you have to make yourselves feel good by making fun of teams like the bills and Browns…but that happens …

Did you need your mom’s fingers and toes as well as yours to count that man teams

  7. The stench of defeat is in the soil in Western New York. It can never be removed. The upcoming season is going to be an unmitigated disaster, brought to you by Terry and Kim Pegula .

  8. Good luck with the Ryan brothers in Buffalo. They both are he kings of excuses. Listen for how many “we didn’t'” they say during a presser after a loss. They are a coaching James Gang. Just stealing money.

  9. Word is he championed that Williams gave up on his team ? LMAO watch the film, Williams did that on his own. As they deleted my pet, again, he is being replaced by John Blake. Williams hates him because he read Williams the riot act many times last season. He championed nothing that the player did not do himself. Williams dropped into coverage less the. Any player at his position was asked to do last season. Look it up folks.

  10. Again, hopeless Miami fans. Can’t wait for the pre season pressed by Ross. Should be as funny as all the rest of his. Also cannot wait to read this is a breakout year for Tannehill and Miamis D should be among the best in the league. Can’t wait.

  11. Shouldn’t be that surprising, when you work for a coach with a fat, out of work, bad defensive coach brother.
    Who can’t see it?

  12. Clearly when those guys fail to rush the passes after having their assignments changed to faking rushing the passer, the fault lies with their position coach.

  13. i like people acting like this wasn’t deserved and Rex is dysfunctional…they went from leading the league in sacks to being one of the worst. The D line regressed greatly and it wasn’t just because of Mario. Dareus, Hughes and the depth did nothing last year. Someone was going to answer for it.

  14. Some teams will never learn, you can hire a loud mouth entertainer or a football coach but they are never the same person. Now the loud mouth wants his brother, another loud mouth, to join him in Buffalo. Why not?, when the ship goes down (not if, but when), they can console each other.

Nice try but if that was the case then he would have been gone after last season ended and not made it to this point. Cutting Rob Ryan at the buffet, not knowing his place, is far more likely.

Wrecks Ryan and his brother Rob together again! *grabs popcorn*
