Outside of signing their own players and adding defensive lineman Cedric Thornton, the Cowboys were quiet during the first wave of free agency.

They appear to be picking things up this week with defensive end Chris Long and cornerback Leon Hall set for visits this week. Veteran safety Dashon Goldson may be joining the group.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are planning to bring Goldson in for a visit.

Goldson was released by the Redskins last week before the start of free agency. He started 15 games for Washington last season, made 110 tackles and returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown. Goldson previously spent two years with the Buccaneers and six years with the 49ers, where he worked with current Cowboys safeties coach Greg Jackson when Jackson was an assistant defensive backs coach.

Barry Church and J.J. Wilcox return at safety for the Cowboys along with 2015 first-round pick Byron Jones and Jeff Heath. Danny McCray is an unrestricted free agent.
