Free agent defensive end Jason Hatcher is visiting the Saints, Kristian Garic of WWL in New Orleans reported Tuesday night.
Hatcher, who turns 34 this summer, spent the last two years with the Redskins after playing eight seasons with the Cowboys. He was released earlier this month as the Redskins cleared cap space.
Though he considered retirement last season, Hatcher later said he wants to continue to play. The Saints need all the defensive help they can get, and Hatcher had 7.5 sacks in his two seasons with the Redskins. He’ll probably play as a part-time rusher in nickel and dime packages if he signs with the Saints.
Hatcher had a career-best 11 sacks in 2013 with the Cowboys.
