The Packers will bring back both of their top running backs from the 2015 season.

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that James Starks has agreed to terms with the Packers on a new contract. Starks was an unrestricted free agent and visited with the Patriots before agreeing to return to Green Bay.

Starks ran 148 times for 601 yards and two touchdowns while sharing time with Eddie Lacy in the Packers backfield. Lacy was the starter for the majority of the season, but Starks got the nod with the first team four times as the team worked around some sluggish performances by Lacy.

Lacy is expected to remain on top of the depth chart for the start of the 2016 season, although arrangement could change if Lacy fails to get into the kind of condition that coach Mike McCarthy said is a must. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, Starks, who also had 43 catches last season, should see plenty of action in his seventh season with the Packers.
