Les Snead said Case Keenum will be the starter at quarterback for the Rams “at the beginning of the season.” Unless he didn’t.
And Snead didn’t.
According to the Rams (and, more importantly, according to the video), Snead said only that Keenum will commence Organized Team Activities as the No. 1 quarterback. Which ultimately means little if anything to the identity of the starter to commence the regular season.
It means, as a practical matter, that Keenum will compete with Nick Foles plus whoever else they may add between now and Week One. It doesn’t mean Keenum won’t win the job. But it doesn’t mean he already has.
