The Raiders and Texans will face off in Mexico City next season, expanding the league’s international slate of games beyond the now-routine set of London contests.
The next addition to the schedule could have teams traveling much further to play a game. Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that the league could play a game in China during the 2018 season.
Marvez adds that a handful of teams have already expressed interest in playing a game in Asia, which doesn’t come as much surprise. China is a massive market that represents an area where both the league and individual teams can grow interest and sell merchandise that would continue to grow revenue.
There are no details about where a game might be played, although the Olympic Stadium built for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing would probably be a good guess about a location.
