When offensive lineman Kraig Urbik’s visit with the Dolphins on Tuesday was reported, the feeling was that he’d agree to a contract with the team before the day was out.
That feeling proved to be the correct one. The Dolphins announced on Tuesday afternoon that Urbik is the newest member of the team.
Urbik joins Jermon Bushrod as new additions to the Dolphins offensive line and both of them are expected to be in the mix for jobs at guard. The Dolphins have Billy Turner, Dallas Thomas and Jamil Douglas back from last year’s team, although their work was widely seen as falling short of the level needed for a successful offense in Miami.
Urbik entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the Steelers in 2009 and joined the Bills on waivers the next year. He started 57 games and saw time at both guard and tackle during his six years in Buffalo.
