Laquon Treadwell drawing interest from Browns, Bengals, Cowboys, more

AP

On Monday, Mississippi receiver Laquon Treadwell will be running as fast as he can at a Pro Day workout. Thereafter, he’ll be traveling around the country in much faster vehicles in advance of the draft.

In an interview with NBCSN’s Pro Football Talk, which will be televised tonight during the 6:00 p.m. ET hour, Treadwell lists some of the teams that have shown interest in visiting with him prior to the draft.

Treadwell rattled off the Bengals, Browns, Bears, and Cowboys among the primary teams that have shown interest. He also mentioned “New York” as a city to which he’d be traveling, but the idiot who was doing the interview (i.e., me) neglected to ask whether he meant the Jets, Giants, or both.

Unlike plenty of incoming rookies, who grow weary of traveling from city to city, Treadwell embraces it, expressing a willingness to visit every team.

He may feel different about visiting the last 12 after checking out the first 20, but he has the right attitude as the upcoming odyssey commences.

To hear everything else Laquon Treadwell had to say, tune in to tonight’s episode of Pro Football Talk.

  1. Ahhhh Laquan Treadwell. The young lad who announced his commitment to Ole Miss and simultaneously tweeted 2 photos of him holding cash and 2 young girls kissing him on each cheek. I hope he gets a financial adviser to help him be a little smarter with his paychecks than he was at Ole Miss.

  2. How long ago was this? With the Bears having tagged Alshon and now working toward a long-term deal with him, I can’t imagine them blowing their 1st-round pick on a guy who is basically the same player.

  3. I’d guess the New York team would be the Giants. The Jets have Marshall and Decker. The Giants have Beckham, but they just let Randle go and Cruz is more a slot guy and giant question mark.

  4. I would imagine every team would show some interest, he should be a first round pick.
What if he falls-should we trade up-what if we trade back-what if he does something stupid between now and then?
All legitimate questions. Better answer them now than in the war room on the clock.

  5. This is going to get VERY interesting!!!! The Jets really don’t need him, the Giants well, may be in the hunt, the Bears, well, they ALWAYS think they already have a SB winning team, Now that the Browns signed RG III, that might be a real thing, huh??? Hmmmm…..Good luck in the draft Laquan, maybe the Vikings will trade up and you will end up on our great team!!!!

  6. If he makes it past Dallas, who I think might be looking at Ezekiel Elliott, then I can’t see him getting past Baltimore. Steve Smith, while still Smitty, is not getting any younger and he’s coming off an ACL. Perriman is a question mark after red shirting his rookie year, Mike Wallace provides some potential for stretching the field, but is not a reliable number one.

If he doesn’t have any hiccups between now and the draft, I’d say his absolute floor is at 16 with the Lions. I don’t know if you guys heard about it, but they just had a pretty good receiver retire.

Yes they just signed alfred morris so they can draft elliot. Morris and mcfadden are plenty at rb. I dont get people and drafting a rb in first round

  8. Duuuh The cowboys DO NOT need (or WANT for that matter) Elliot, they HAVE McFadden, who played well last year when the play calling wasn’t “formula” stupidity, and they just signed Morris.
They THOUGHT they had a CB signed until that jerk double dealt them (may your “integrity” come back as karma Mr. Robinson!) But, their real needs ARE CB and another top notch WR, as Dez going out hurt the team as much or more than Tony’s injury!
