For most of us, finding $20 in an old pair of pants constitutes a good day. Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon recently had a much better day than that.

Weatherspoon, who spent 2015 with the Cardinals and who since has signed a deal to return to the Falcons, found a game check that had not yet been cashed.

“I was on my way home from working out when I received a picture of the check, dated Sept. 18,’' Weatherspoon told Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com via text message. “My fiancée found it in a stack of mail, I believe. I vaguely remember getting the hard copy after the Week 1 game. I’m not sure why it wasn’t directly deposited like all my other checks. I’m currently trying to contact [the Cardinals] now.”

Based on his salary of $2.35 million in 2015, Weatherspoon’s pay for one week (paid out in 17 installments) was $138,235.29.

Weatherspoon has since signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Falcons, the team for which he played from 2010 through 2014.
