Cowboys hosting Ezekiel Elliott for pre-draft visit

Elliott

Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott is headed to Dallas for a pre-draft visit with the Cowboys, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Elliott, the top running back in this year’s draft, seems to be a legitimate option for the Cowboys at No. 4. The Cowboys coaching staff visited Columbus for a private workout with Ohio State’s draft prospects, including Elliott, earlier this month.

Just three running backs have been selected in the top 10 of the draft in the last seven drafts: Todd Gurley at No. 10 last year, Trent Richardson at No. 3 in 2012 and C.J. Spiller at No. 9 in 2010.

Elliott and defensive end Joey Bosa headline a group of Ohio State prospects who could break or tie the record of six first-round picks from a single school in a single year set by Miami (Fla.) in 2004.
