The Giants added tight end/fullback Will Johnson to the roster on Monday and he wasn’t the only free agent they brought in to kick off the week.

Guard Ryan Seymour posted a picture of the Giants logo on social media and Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports he has indeed signed with the team. Seymour was a Seahawks seventh-round pick in 2013 and has spent time with five teams, seeing all 11 games of his career with the Browns in 2014.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the team visited with linebacker Kelvin Sheppard. Sheppard started 13 games for the Dolphins last season and made 103 tackles, but wasn’t very effective overall in the middle of the Miami defense.

The Giants have signed Keenan Robinson and re-signed Jasper Brinkley already this offseason. There’s room for more competition in the mix and the Giants need better linebacker play, but Sheppard hasn’t looked more capable of providing it than what’s on hand.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that offensive tackles Ben Ijalana and Byron Stingily were in for a visit as well. Neither saw regular season action in 2015.
