Packers cornerback Demetri Goodson suspended four games for PEDs

It’s Friday afternoon, you know what that means.

The NFL announced that cornerback Demetri Goodson has been suspended the first four games of the season for violating the league’s performance enhancing substances policy.

Goodson, a former sixth-round pick from Baylor (the Bears are having a lot of Friday news dumps lately themselves) was a contributor in the secondary for the Packers the last two years, playing 14 games last season.

He’s the brother of former Panthers and Jets running back Mike Goodson, who was suspended four games for violating the league’s drug policy, and later cut by the Jets after gun charges which were eventually dismissed.

  2. When you are currently on the decline in the NFC North and teams are constantly passing against you then you gotta do what you gotta do.

    Perhaps PEDs is the only way they could have stopped Larry Fitzgerald.

  3. Everyone mucks up, own up to it, if your still on GBs roster after they get down to 53, stay clean. With Shields, Rollins, Randall, and Hyde being bounced back and forth between CB and Safety, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is cut.

    Expect Viking fans to be overjoyed, as they pretend to forget about the Williams Wall and their suspension.

  9. Every Packers article is like a gift to those of us with no dog in the GB/MN fight. We can sit back and watch all the Vikings trolls display all their inadequacies and insecurities. Eagles, Falcons, Bills, Fins and TN yahoos have nothing on the delusion level of Vikes trolls. They have to be almost as embarrassing to real Vikings fans as the 12’s are to ‘Hawks fans.

  11. Well, he was hanging on to a roster spot by a thread , so I’m not surprised he risked it. He had speed, but never made any plays so far, even on special teams. So Long!

  17. GB DB’s using PED’s and are still as bad as they are? Jeez, packer fans must be getting nervous especially since their QB’s stats fell last year after his over-inflating cheating ways were put to an end.

  18. So what was the PED? Why don’t they disclose that info? Was it Adderall? HGH? Steroids?

    Seems that info would be helpful so others don’t make the same mistake. The NFL doesn’t mind details of any domestic abuse incident going public, but PED use…….uh, oh……better keep this pretty vague.

Honestly I agree, Packers/Vikings internet trolls truly are a gift to you, as you and your “fanbase” have no concept of understanding that we as Vikings/Packers trolls get OUR entertainment from watching actual football itself. I am sure this is the only pleasure you get out of being an NFL Fan.

    This is also the closest thing you will ever get to a rivalry, watching ours unfold on an internet website. Its adorable, now go outside and enjoy your weather, even if everyone you meet out there is Confederate trash.

  23. Played more snaps on special teams than on defense. Game where he played the most was vs. Carolina, and you can see in the photo how that went.

    If they had re-signed Hayward they may not have spent to get the fast TE that they need much more than a sixth DB.

    Ha ha ha. Even when your team competed for the SB your defense wasn’t any good.

    I imagine this isn’t a big loss though. Special teams player. Easily replaceable.

    Some Einstein, the user name is jag1959 not jagS—. jag as in Just Another Guy. I am a Giants season ticket holder, like my father and his father before him I watch real football played outdoors. With a Lombardi in each of the last 4 decades I have watched plenty of real football. I certainly wasn’t calling all Vikes fans trolls, that’s a distinction probably lost on you as a self proclaimed troll though

    Someones distraught about the collapse of the packers. Typically this happens towards the end of the season but its starting during preseason.

    Oh gawd. A flipping GIANTS fan?! Thats even worse! At least the Jaguars aren’t the most boring team ever invented. If you had been a Jags fan I would have respected you more, but a GIANTS fan?! Literally the most unwatchable team of all time. Speaking of which, I was in attendance at the Monday Night game this past year, outdoors, top 10 coldest games in NFL history(way colder than anything you’ve ever seen) in Minneapolis, when I watched my Vikings roll over your boring unimaginative football team in front of the whole nation.

    If it would have been the Jags, maybe I wouldn’t have had to drink to much to pretend to be interested in watching you get rolled over like the Washington Generals do with the Globetrotters.

    The NFLPA insisted that the NFL not release anything other than the suspension in the CBA. But, go ahead, blame the NFL for what the players demanded in the cba.

    Regardless, I can’t blame Goodson. If i had to live there for part of the year, every illegal substance known to man would be flowing through my veins in an effort to somehow enjoy myself.

    Jerome Felton
