Rex Ryan’s introducing Donald Trump tonight because of course he is

AP

Some days, the jokes, they write themselves.

Tonight in New York, a loud-talking, antagonistic heel who loves being the center of attention and poking at his enemies will speak to a crowd of fervently loyal partisans who others simply do not understand.

Donald Trump will be there too.

Via Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News, Bills coach Rex Ryan will be introducing the Republican Presidential candidate at an event in Buffalo. Because who else, really, would do it?

While he’ll almost certainly declare the Bills huge tonight, Trump didn’t always hold the franchise in such high esteem.

None of that will stop the master showman of the NFL, or the guy who has turned the election process into his own personal three-ring circus, except without the rings.

  1. no way Trump gets elected, even if he turns the GOP convention into a version of a reality program, he will get booted

even if he does get nominated, no way he beats Clinton

trump is the worst thing to ever happen to the Republican party

  2. If Trump then takes the stage and fires Rex Ryan he would win the election in a walk.

  3. What a surprise. The same guy who chose 2 go hang at the pro bowl instead of going to the senior bowl with our G.M. attention seeker,he is no longer a head coach, just planning his next career in television. 5-11 this year.

  4. Rex Ryan is smarter than Sarah Palin and Marco Rubio and he is slightly more modest than The Donald. He would make a truly great running mate as VP. Maybe Rob Ryan could be Secretary of State and the Bills Defense would improve.

  5. Trump-Ryan for President…no, not Paul Ryan!

The Donald and The Rex, with Rob as secretary of defense.

(Get’s the twins off the Bills team- so don’t laugh too hard!)

That just made my day awesome!

  7. Trump all the way! Scares all the people that SHOULD be scared.
    ——-
You mean smart people? He’s a thin skinned moron with no plans, no experience, and all talk. His own party doesn’t want him and it blows my mind that anyone would consider voting for this fool.

  8. Trump says “The United States doesn’t win anymore”….and…”we need to make great deals”……

Tonight he changes to say “Rex; you need to make great deals as the Bills have never won the SB”……,

  9. as a Bills fan i’d like to apologize to the world for Trump’s run for president. if Trump had bought the Bills instead of the Pegulas he’ d be too busy with the team to run for president.

to quote the late great Rick James “Ain’t that a B”

  10. I think it’s a good time for PFT to roll out clips from the ESPN 30-30 on the USFL so we can hear what all the USFL owners think of Trump.

  11. How many imaginary Superbowls do Rex and Donald have combined ?

I would much rather see Jim Schwartz introduce John Kasich, people who actually know what they are talking about and have zero imaginary sup err rbowls.

  12. How appropriate… one blowhard introducing another blowhard.

First things first, his twit… er, tweet. “Even though I refused to pay a ridiculous price for the Buffalo Bills, I would have produced a winner. Now that won’t happen.” Another prime example that Trump tells the truth whenever it suits him. He didn’t refuse to pay a ridiculous price, he lost in the bidding to the Pegulas. Slight difference.

Second of all, for those who remember that far, his previous foray into the world of pro football wasn’t exactly a smashing success, as he was a contributing factor in the demise of the USFL. So, to a certain extent, it might be a blessing that he didn’t get ownership of the Bills.

As to him building a winner, considering he went Chapter 11 with a casino -which essentially is a money-printing machine- that point is up for debate.

  13. I don’t get the hate for Trump? I understand if you want to vote Cruz but I don’t get for the life of me why anyone would vote for Bernie or Hillary. They are terrible and would fundamentally change our nation for the worst

  14. Those of us who have made a study of history know what kind of nation this would be with Trump or Cruz ruling, not leading it. Of the evils, Cruz is far worse. whether you are left or right all ideologues must be rejected.

  15. I don’t think America is ready for a Presidential candidate who goes out on the campaign trail to talk about the size of his winkie, much less one who wants to date his own daughter .

  16. I wonder how non-Trump supporting Bills players will feel about this. Seems like a risky move for someone trying to lead a team of different-minded individuals.

  17. >I don’t get the hate for Trump?

Issues and party lines aside, I expect a certain level of decorum and class from someone aiming to occupy the highest position in our nation.

  18. Politics = Fake entertainment….
Hilary is the next CHOSEN one….

    _______________

This guy has hit the nail on the head. Has no one noticed that the campaign for POTUS has a cartoon quality about it? Trump? Sander? and co. are just out there to “energize the base.” It’s gonna be Hillary.

  19. Never really felt any candidate came across as though they actually cared about my family. Not since Regan. Too bad they are all a bunch of self serving liars. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other. The government is going to keep chipping away at my paycheck to give it to suckers who wont work and are looking for a hand out. What am I going to do? Quit working? Nope. I gotta keep showing up so my kids don’t have to see their old man taking handouts and entitlements and think that’s how to get somewhere. I keep working they keep stealing. What else is new? I have never seen a group of presidential candidates so universally bottom of the barrel. Its getting really slimy up in here.

Probably no different than Ryan feels whenever the players listen to a Beyonce song.

  22. “Trump scares this countries Liberals and the Reupublican Establishment. He must be dong something right.”

Well said, well written. SMH…. sheesh

  23. Rex: Heeeere’s Trump! Now let’s go get us a snack … Curtesy of our Government…

  24. Attention Trumpbots, you’re idol doesn’t want to be President. All he ever wanted was the attention that occurs when someone runs for President. What he never imagined was that there enough fools who would believe his showbiz campaign. You would think an NFL coach would be smart enough to stay away from this political showcase. On second thought, this is Rex Ryan who can’t help but make a fool of himself.

  25. Only 1 in 4 people like Trump, but it’s half of the republicans so he picked the right party.

He IS the only candidate that has publicly denounced Goodell. If he would come up with one of his lame-brain schemes to remove the commissioner I’d vote for him, even if it couldn’t possibly work.

  26. Remember when everyone scoffed and mocked the idea of Trump owning the Bills because he’s a blowhard and had already killed off the USFL (millenials never saw the USFL)? Now he’s on the verge of becoming president???? What changed? Oh, that’s right, he said a bunch of racist things and appealed to the least educated in this country. That depressingly says a lot about the education level here.

  27. They can get spray tanned together and have fun discussing Donald’s triumphant foray into football — the USFL.

  28. I like when people stick their neck out a little, and tell the whiny crowd to buzz off. He’s a free American citizen and has the right to support whichever candidate he wants.

  29. Once ” The Donald ” selects Vince McMahon as the only logical VP candidate he is swept into office and as his first act he reinstates the USFL Generals and all lost draft picks since 1979 head coach you guessed it sexy Rexy who is appointed to the Supreme Court later that same year and co produces a show just about people getting kicked in the balls

This is the perfect election year for the libertarian party to thrust itself into the spotlight and actually get millions of new voters who are fed up with the two major parties.

I’ve been voting for the Libertarian candidates for years. It seems like the voters talk about each political party like they’re cheering for their favorite NFL team.

And true, even if it’s not the popular party in the state of NY, good on him for openly supporting whoever he likes.

  32. Trump would make a great NFL owner though and NFL players would love to play for Trump. You know Donald would make sure his team would get top notch EVERYTHING..
Seriously regardless of his (fake) politics he would be a great owner…

The reason why I say “fake” is due to Trump being a democrat, he did not plan on getting this far. It started as a P.R stunt. He told Howard Stern in 2004 “all you got to do is say you are a republican and say crazy redneck things and these crazies will vote for you”

    It’s working!!!! People are idiots

Why? Because he says what’s on his mind and doesn’t care who does or doesn’t like it? Why is that such a bad thing? It beats the hell out of all these other poll-driven puppets, in my opinion.
Many people viewed Harry Truman a lot like Donald Trump is being viewed, and Truman surprised everyone by being a great President.
I have to laugh at those who bash Donald Trump in favor of those two nitwits the Democrats are trumpeting. One is a born liar and crook, and the other one is a Socialist who wants to tear America down even further than O’Bama has done.
By the way, I think you are right, though. Billary and her husband Hillbilly will win. She is the new Teflon Don — like John Gotti — because nothing she does illegally ever sticks.
America can’t get enough of these liberal wackos, so I have no doubt that she will win.
Electing Hillary will be yet another nail in America’s coffin. But go for it, America — you ask for it and you are going to get it.

  35. so I can’t say I am ashamed of this as a Bills fan without getting my post removed? No foul language, just want the Bills Organization to know that getting involved in politics is in the words of Charles Barkley TURRIBLE… Rex represents the whole organization and the whole city of Buffalo. Is this what YOU as an organization are about? I wouldn’t care if it was Bernie or Hillary.. like I said TURRIBLE!

  36. PS Please stop with the “Trump says what’s on his mind” Trump is a salesman.. what is on his mind is what you will buy from him. He is a Confidence man… If he told you the Bills were going to get Andrew Luck and Indy was gonna pay his contract you would buy that… bare nonsense.

  37. Nice job digging up the tweet from 2014. It’s Trump showing he’s immature, arrogant, and a sore loser. Those are not qualities I want in my commander-in-chief.

  38. Trump is the only candidate who is pro America. The rest of you are getting lost in the political landscape. Anybody else you elect will stab you in the back. Or have you forgotten the last 40 years?

It’s time we elect a president who is for the People and will do right by the People not donors, lobbyists, and corporations.

  39. This is a lot different from a vote whoever bumper sticker. Even expressing his right as a citizen will no doubt rub some of his players wrong since this is a in-person and public endorsement. Politics, religion and money have ruined many relationships. But it is his right to do so and hence the disclaimer by the Bills.

  40. I’m hoping Rex only did this because Trump promised to make him the Secretary of Defense. That’s the only way Rex will ever have a stronger defense than Bill Belichick. That would make him just dumb rather than racist if Rex really supports Trump.

  41. One lying gas bag to another blow hard gas bag…These two clowns deserve each other…

    Go Bernie…..
