The Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed quarterback Dan LeFevour.
A sixth-round pick of the Bears in 2010, LeFevour bounced around the NFL as a backup and practice squad player with the Bengals, Bears, Jaguars and Colts. He’s spent the last four seasons in the CFL.
LeFevour has some past ties to the Bucs. New Bucs coach Dirk Koetter was the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville when LeFevour spent six weeks with the Jaguars in 2011, and Bucs quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian was LeFevour’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Central Michigan from 2007-09.
He joins Mike Glennon and Ryan Griffin on the depth chart behind Jameis Winston. Adding LeFevour could mean the Bucs expect some trade interest in Glennon during or after next week’s draft.
