QB LeFevour signs with Bucs

The Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed quarterback Dan LeFevour.

A sixth-round pick of the Bears in 2010, LeFevour bounced around the NFL as a backup and practice squad player with the Bengals, Bears, Jaguars and Colts. He’s spent the last four seasons in the CFL.

LeFevour has some past ties to the Bucs. New Bucs coach Dirk Koetter was the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville when LeFevour spent six weeks with the Jaguars in 2011, and Bucs quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian was LeFevour’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Central Michigan from 2007-09.

He joins Mike Glennon and Ryan Griffin on the depth chart behind Jameis Winston. Adding LeFevour could mean the Bucs expect some trade interest in Glennon during or after next week’s draft.

  1. Thought the headline said QB Leftover and was curious to see if it was Hoyer or Fitzpatrick.

  2. Free Mike Glennon.

Better stats than Osweiler, Cousins, RGIII, Fitzpatrick, Hoyer, Foles, McCown, and probably a half a dozen other QBs who will be given opportunities to start this year.

You can look it up. 29 tds, 15 ints, 58.8 completion percentage on horrible Bucs teams.

Not sure what the Bucs are asking for, but I would certainly ship a second or third rounder to them before I would waste it on someone like Christian Hackenberg.

The guy has proven he can play in the league. I’m not sure what people are struggling to understand about that.

  3. Lol I thought it said QB Leftover too, then I remembered when he was on the Bears and realized my eyes may have not been tricking me after all!
