In Gary Kubiak’s first season as the Broncos head coach, the team brought in Owen Daniels as a familiar face at tight end.
Daniels, who played for Kubiak in Houston and Baltimore, was released in March, but Kubiak will still have some familiarity at the position. The team announced Monday that they have signed Texans tight end Garrett Graham to a one-year deal.
Kubiak was the head coach of the Texans when Graham was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 draft. He had one catch in his first two seasons before seeing more time in his next three seasons. Graham caught 95 passes for 1,004 yards and nine touchdowns, but slipped down the depth chart last season while playing in eight games.
The Texans released Graham in March, so his signing won’t factor into the formula for doling out compensatory picks next year. Virgil Green, Jeff Heuerman and Richard Gordon are also on the roster at tight end for the Broncos.
