The Panthers may draft a wide receiver at some point this week, but a rookie is unlikely to be the most significant addition to their 2015 receiving corps.
That honor is going to go to Kelvin Benjamin, who missed all of last season with a torn ACL. Benjamin has been making steady progress in his recovery from that injury and said Monday that he’s feeling excited about making a full return to football activities at training camp this summer.
“Oh I’m doing everything,” Benjamin said, via the Charlotte Observer. “I can’t wait to get to training camp. I’m looking forward to it.”
Benjamin expects to do individual work through the offseason program before ramping things up in a few months. The Panthers were able to succeed last season without him, but the prospect of having another big target for Cam Newton in the passing game is an appealing one all the same.
